offset crank griding and rod bearings

Hi

can anyone say what the max offset you can grind a 240/280 crank is, while using off the shelf rods?

If you had a 1mm offset grid, is that the 0.5mm oversized rod bearings.... thats the way i'm looking at it?

Never looked at offset stuff before!

Interested to see how this goes, I’ve got an LD crank that would be good to offset grind.

its very common, you've just got to make sure you get bearings to fit the offset..... also if you offset an ld what rods would you run?

I did have a cheap as chips ld engine at £230 ish for the whole thing..... I've since found a couple more but don't really want the large displacement/torque.

I’ll prob end up with MaxSpeeding rods on 88mm JE pistons. If I could have gone for a big offset grind I would have perhaps gone for it, but 1mm offset only gains 30cc. I was concerned about needing to re heat treat the crank also.
