Decal reference picture - help

Trying to track down a reference picture for the decal that goes on the headlamp washer bottle on my series 1 280zx.

Have already got the one for the main washer bottle, but don't have any reference for the other one.

I don't think an after market one exists, so am planing to recreate it, but need reference pictures. Will be able to get it printed up, but may need to compromise on stock.

Approx size = 38 x 58mm (Jideco branded bottle, if that helps)

Decided to have a go at creating 'what Nissan would have done' in terms of a decal. This is based on the reference images on the right hand side of actual Datsun water bottle designs. Note the attention to bad line breaks :) I ran the English text through Google translate to get the Japanese and although it does not match the other translation perfectly - who is going to know?

Will see if my usual printer has a suitable stock to try it on. Would be good to stay with the silver...

Cheers for the feedback. I have ordered up some silver stock, which is used for labeling IT equipment, to put through my laser printer here. It looks perfect, but will wait and see.

If there are other decals out there which don't already exist, I can recreate the artwork for them as long as I have good reference pics. If there is enough demand we can get them printed up... "We have the technology..."

Those look really good, I would definitely be interested in one of those if you can do it in silver. I have several other decals that I can’t get replacements for. I’ll send you some pictures and dimensions, see what you think.

Cheers

Yes, no bother I will see how they turn out. I was thinking the "Be sure to set hood stay" would be the same process as the washer bottle one, ie: black on silver. Would need a bit on time to draw it up, but mine is mostly in tact so I have something to copy. I would leave my original one as is, but if someone is missing theirs...

Just let me know which ones and I will have a look.

Can't believe I already received the label material this morning! Only ordered it about 6pm last night!

Ran off a test and it's perfect. Really happy with how they turned out. The material is polyester film and claims to be:

Weather resistant, wet wipeable, oil and dirt repellent and resistant to temperatures from -40° to +150°C.

When I ran them through my printer it looked a bit like the toner was too thick (bottom sheet is on paper for reference), so I gave them a gentle wipe and it really sharpened them up, they look perfect. They look even better than the picture below, which I think it is slightly out of focus, but you get the idea.

Just need to choose one and stick it on the washer bottle.

So that's amazing!!! What printer "paper" did you use? Got a link to it?

Ps laser or ink print?

Today's BIG JOB! Applying the new decal... EXTRA:D Wish I had saved myself £25 on the other decal by knocking it up myself. Oh well...

Decided to recreate the decal for the windscreen washer bottle, even though I shelled out for a repro one, since I have the material now.

Started by scanning in the original old decal to use as a guide. I had to find a reference image of the logo at the bottom separately as the printed one is a bit vague, being so small. Spent ages trying to track down the correct serif font, think the one I have found is pretty close. Have kept the original typo too, just for good measure. A Japanese friend typed up the exact characters for me and email it over, then I picked a close matching Japanese font.

Obviously the original material is a foil. However if you look at the aftermarket repro ones out there, they are similar material to mine.

Have also updated the one I did earlier with the correct Japanese text.
