So just thought it would be interesting to know who has a working air con system in their S30Z or S130ZX?

I went to Le Mans one summer for the Classic when it was VERY hot on the drive down and I had perspex windows with 'sliders' - wow it was hot!

The 280ZXturbo T-top I currently have here has ice-cold factory airco.

Well it's not always just for the very hot days. Sometimes aircon gives a much more efficient ventilation and demist system in my experience.

But yes on a UK S30/130 it's a lot of extra 'gubbins' and weight.

I just thought it interesting to see if anyone still has air con, especially with the 280Z being imported.

was it factory fit on those or dealer fit?

20x days - as many as that ? I was wondering ehre when the rain would stop and the sun shine but yes Rob, aircon is more effective for demisting...also good for sore throats.

I'm quite interested to hear what people have done, eventually I'd love to install a modern unit which has a heater, aircon and fan all in one which goes in the stock heater location. I think in the US several people have used Vintage air for modern units.

Will be expensive to do properly I'm sure. Agreed Rob, AC is just as useful in the winter as the summer albeit I'll be melting at the LMC this year....

I've just got back from Spa in the 280z with no working A/C yet. The drive down was fine and with the windows up it still didn't get hot inside the car. The outside temperature was around 17C though. The trip back was a different matter with the temps rising to high 20's and resulted in windows open all the way.

I can see the trip to Le Mans next week being a hot one but I don't mind driving with the window down. Especially as the red zed is fume free inside the car.

All done now, up and running again although need some confidence building longer runs than the two miles I managed last night. Sun comes out and every man, dog and caravan head for the South West, roads chocker with grockles :cuss:
