Hi all
I’m thinking of fitting triple Weber’s to my 280z and I like to know who run them on there Z ?

Thanks

I'm running triple Weber’s on my L28 powered 260Z & may also run them on my 280Z when I put it on the road.
I'd have thought we have lots of Z's running triple webers, don't we?

Are they problematic set up ?
Spoke to cpl of people and they said don’t do it
What’s your opinion ?

There are many parts to select that affect whether it runs well - more than 6 per cylinder (idle jet, idle jet holder, main jet, emulsion tube, air bleed, choke, accelerator jet are the main ones) and 3 units to synchronise. So there’s a lot to set up. You either have to really like playing at it or go to a rolling road and pay for the pleasure.
Once they’re setup it’s ok to stay on top of and they look better and make better noises than SUs. They even make more power ultimately, with the right engine and other bits.

Assume you've had you head at least skimmed if it's from the US. CP is zero

I had omar with triples on my 240 and had to get more progression holes sorted

On my 280 I went for mapped Throttle bodies, in fact doing the same on my TR6 as opposed to the norm triple weber set up. So much crisper but obvs trumpier

Not done anything yet at the moment I’m on research and finding out what need to be done etc.
So head need to be skimmed ? Is that necessary? Any thing else need to be done ?

Well of course it's easy to get carried away with these cars as I did with my 280.

But you won't get any benefit with the carbs I don't think as the CR is so low on a US head.

There's a huge lump to take off to get the CR up and it'll make a huge difference

There are other more knowlegable people on here that would confirm or otherwise
