Think you mean homosexual bands, gay means to be happy but if it rocks then it doesn’t matter, with keys you can do some great songs

If you guys really would like to do this then we need to know what date we are dealing with for starters. Secondly, where. As I've already said I'm cool we do it here if that's what the club would like. I can cope with around forty or so folks in the 'live room' without it being cramped. I have backline, p.a & lights set up and ready to go. We have a 110 room, 4 star hotel just a few miles from my village if ppl want to stay local. I know I can arrange a minibus with the hotel to get folks from the hotel to the gig here & back again, if that's what is required. Also the hotel is off the beaten track & has cameras in the car park so your cars should be pretty safe. Although you'll have to share it with Porsche club guys :D
I've taken the liberty of asking a frontman/singer/guitarist I've worked with on & off for well over 10 years if he would be up for fronting(he said yes, early confirmation dependant). Together we've worked here & in Europe with Ray Davies & the Kinks among others. This guy has a massive repertoire of songs from the 50's through to the 00's. I'm happy to be the backbone of drum duties if Status or someone is happy to take on bass. After that I figure we can just mix & match :)
If we did this what night would work best? I'm thinking Friday?
Anyway, so I don't go waffling on forever, can we gauge if we have any serious interest & commitment in this.
Thank you and very interested on everyones comments :)

Just thought I'd better add, RAH((the venue)here) is about 16 miles from Silverstone.

Friday and Saturday would work, share with the porshe club as too many timewasters say they will be there but don’t bother, the gig can be advertised local so as to attract locals and make numbers up if needed, yeah I’m cool on bass, keys would be good as it opens up new avenues regarding song choice,I need to know dates as I’m being booked for 2019 so you lot better pull yer finger out or it wont happen,Jake has got off his butt and sorted poss two venues so get yer brains together mr committee persons and get date sorted

What about tying it in with event at Silverstone ?
Friday 20th July ties in with Classic as a starter suggestion.

Sharing with Porsche Club :smash: Don’t think that will win many votes Status.

Don’t forget the ‘ Live Room ‘ at RAH Towers only holds 40 peeps and I can bring that many along on my own if you want a full house, no need to lower the tone with Porsche Club or other local undesirables :lol:

And if you want to avail yourselves of the best young blues and lead guitarist to have trod the boards at Ronnie Scott’s since Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page were in their pomp, just let me know ;)

Nothing wrong with a porshe, think they have done a bit more over the years than a Datsun, porshe gets my vote as I havnt got me head stuck where the sun don’t shine

Nothing wrong with a ‘ classic ‘ Porsche and I have one myself ;)
Talking about the Owners Club with their mostly modern Caymans, Boxsters, 997s etc.
Come to Donington this year and you’ll see a stand overflowing with them, interesting....not.

I don't think we need to think that big do we? Why not just make it a close knit vibe of mostly club members, & friends/family that said members have with them on that weekend.
Really meant the other place 110 punters, just a thought
No Paul, I was just pointing out the fact the is a 110ROOM(BIG Enough) hotel just down the road. I wasn't suggesting we do the gig at the hotel. Just thought it could be a good place for people to stay. Has a pool, steam room, jacuzzi, gym, bars, restaurant, e.t.c & plenty of out of the way parking covered by cameras

Wasn't that the idea dear boy? Z 50th @ Silverstone classic 2019, Z parade lap.
Z house band on say Friday night not far from the track, with a big hotel nearby that can transport club members and friends back & forth between the gig (RAH Central) & the hotel. Also within 20 minutes of Silverstone.

Sounds good to me mate, I think I've heard the man you're talking about ;)

Agreed on the fact that if we are going to do this we need to know firm dates a.s.a.p.
We also need to know if we have the interest.

Thoughts plz members :)

I was thinking the same thing only yesterday mate. If it's not in the diary very soon other things will be, and it won't be happening. The frontman who is up for joining us needs to know like 'now' as he'll miss out on 'paid' work, or he'll just take the work and we'll be short of a frontman.
