Dean Halsey racing at Donington

I went along to Donington yesterday to see Dean racing his lovely 240Z.

Weather was poor but for Dean's race it was dry.

Will Arif who shares the driving (and has driven Big Sam) qualified the car well up in about 6th and made a good start. On Lap 2 he had moved up to 3rd but then unfortunately something happened at the rear of the car and caused a spin at the high-speed Schwantz Curve.

Unable to fix it, the car was retired from the 40min two-man race so poor Dean didn't get to drive it. The big Corvette won.

The car has good potential in the Swinging Sixties Championship but needs a little more time to 'iron out' the inevitable 'teething problems'.

As they say "that's racing".

I spent the weekend with the team again and this was a little disappointing end. The car did perform well though and every event we see improvement in the setup. This was Dean's first time round Donington so the weekend was always going to be a learning experience. Especially with the continuous changing conditions and he gained a lot from the 2 days with his lap times improving with each session. We ended the last race at Castle comb on a big high and Dean will continue to push forward. Next race is Alton Pk, followed by Brands Hatch.

Yes, that 'table' shows that there is only racing on the Saturday.

Doubt I'll be there but I may persuade my wife that we need to visit her mother in Cheshire.

Did you take one of the zeds out for a drive yestaday when u went Donny

No car show then just racing

No I didn't just jumped in my X Trail and drove there in 30 mins, parked on the grass in the pouring rain. Drove back in pouring rain with my demister working nicely - . Why take a Z out in that?

CV was my first thought. Driveshaft could be moved more freely on the side that the noise was coming from.

Still no answer on the findings.

Donnington Spin

Hi All.
Autopsy shows nothing so we believe it was due to being at 116MPH on the white line with some left steering and lifting off the gas. This is the best we can come up with. We have some brakes fine tuning to do but this was not a brakes issue.

Thanks all for your support you are all welcome to Oulton park
but on November the 11th i will be racing at Brands Indy day time and a night race
I intend on supplying some refreshments to supporters.
