Hitachi v "Original" SUs

Triples is all about showing off a bigger sinep than SUs which can easily deliver all the road power needed. EFi is knowing that one's sinep is bigger but keeping it zipped up discreetly.

Drive both before staking your soul on the argument.;)

Both SUs, triples and EFI?

Triples look great, sound great and can flow more air than SUs and so can provide more power if thats what you want.
ITBs can match the power and will normally give better mpg.
No penii involved for me. I can't speak for you, but I very rarely think about them.

I'm hoping ITBs can more than match triple carbs and they plus SUs also sound great through K and Ns but the emphasis now is on cold-air induction so that 'air-slurping' sound is reduced if not lost upon whichever admission is chosen.

Both SUs, triples and EFI?.

Sorry, I don't follow you - both and then three examples given ? I was comparing analogue triples to Efi as per Ali.

I'd still rather have a pair of 2"SUs to triple 40s on a road car.....and let's not even go down the HSCC route running on 'std' 1 3/4" Hitachis.;)

I think ultimately ITB's will outperform carbs of any type/any setup. Doesn't mean its right though.

Still obsessed with Japanese parts then:rolleyes: !

Still better than turbos and swaps but a properly set-up pair of SUs is hard to beat.

I looked at them and 3 years ago there was little between ZT and Patltech. But the thing that swung me toward Z Therapy was their sealed throttle shaft bearings; which is where my old worn carbs were breathing through.

One thing I would say though is I was hoping for a very high polish finish to ZT carbs but my cam cover outshines them. While polished, they are a duller / greyish colour.

Sorry Sean. Triples every time.

Been there done that (see photos) although not on Webers...and been jealous of Goldilocks for years (but don't tell him) so my kit of Jenvey Heritage 45s are ordered.

im using hs6s on my 260 but thats with the 2.6 lump.
i haven't really noticed a drop in performance but i do find tuning it more fiddly than with the 240 carbs that were on it before due to the lack of adjuster screws.
the SU way of doing it is cheap nasty clamp devices that are imperial which isnt as easy as the datsuns adjuster screw setup.

I think with enough tuning time and a good enough ECU, ITBs should be able to do better. But putting aside MPG, real world, I don't think there'd be much in it.
