What did you do to your Z this week?

Yes they look like sealant but I'm trying to imagine how they have got there? Wouldn't rings like that only be formed around the bolt in the sump holes when it's tightened up.

Yes. That’s the flaw in my thinking. Can’t imagine what else they could be. Too small to be from valve stem seals.
Maybe they fell off and in when I reopened it back in March when my torque wrench let me down.

This week I mainly fitted an engine bay lamp and flattend my battery.

I’ve been baffling my sump

And collecting parts. The Nodiz ecu has arrived. I don’t know if it works yet but the docs and software seem good. Lots of features on top of the 3d ignition map, launch control might be useful.
I’m waiting for my trigger wheel - I’m hoping I’ll be able to tuck it behind my Kameari crank damper - there’s about 7mm gap to the timing cover and the trigger wheel is 5mm. Scary bit is that it’ll have to be welded on.

This weekend I’ve bolted the front offside ARB through the frame rail, with crush tubes of course!

The old fixing gave up the ghost ☹️

Bought this 70 240Z, HLS3012742, shell last week and started to add sheet metal on it this week. Started with a rust free accident free shell. Has series 1 doors so thats good but not found a series 1 hatch as of yet so a series 2 will have to do. Series 1 seats next week and tail lights with tail light panels too. Needs a good scrub next week too.

are those samuri spec doors?

Sorry Franky,

Not sure what specs a samuri door has. This door has the very small side impact brace that were used on early 240Z's sold in North America. Later 72 to 74 had larger bracing and thus were a bit heavier than early doors.

What are special about samuri doors???
Not that I will ever find a samuri door here in the states. LOL

I think it was a joke about the colours Mike ... ! That fell flat :D

What's gonna be the future of this one then?

Yea, just trying to put clean sheet metal on it regardless of color or cleanliness.

I have 5 Z cars that I need to move on Mike, 2 runners and 3 rollers. After i am done adding parts and cleaning them up, I will offer some up here and then E-bay.

Just putting the final touches to one of my seats which I have recoloured. I’m doing all the interior vinyl in one go, taking ages to do but it’ll look lovely when done ...

Well Mike you are doing a beautiful job on that interior, well done.

I also fitted one of the choke mounting plates several years ago and it worked very well.

Jimbo, as the cables age and are not lubricated, they tend to get harder to operate which causes the mounting tabs on the underside of the console to break. This plate by-passes those mounting tabs and as you can see, bolts the choke assembly directly to the transmission tunnel. Well worth the money I think.

But where do we get one from? Or is it a case of fabricating one?

I had a broken console due to this and lubricated the cable which needs doing quite regularly to keep it from going again.

They’re on US ebay ... but I drew round my one on a bit of paper so I had the size. They’d be pretty easy easy to knock up to be honest.
