240Z on Le Jog

Watched the report on Motors TV, nice looking car, sorry didn't take a pic. Unfortunately they broke the prop shaft bolts ( I assume they must have come loose) but got sorted with new ones by someone near Thirsk, and then broke the diff 50 miles from the finish.

Nice to see them getting more popular on UK events.

That was Dean in his green 240z. He rang me during a stage to ask what I thought of the noise he was getting on acceleration. I told him "that don't sound good" :). He rang a short while latter to ask where he could get some prop bolts. The diff eventually gave up the ghost. He did cross the line though.

..... He did cross the line though.

On a 'flatbed' I think.

However well done Dean, it's one of the tougher 'Hero' events.

I was at the Historic Rally Car Register 'Open Day' at Gaydon on Saturday. Met Hugh and Debby Myers there. The reason I went was for the nostalgic Forum in the evening covering the Motoring News Road Rally Championship. Those events were brilliant and we still talk about them now - I did 4 in the early 70s. Daren't say what I thought the average age of the attendees was but we were all youngsters when competing.

My friends compete in Le Jog every year. They always ring and tell me about a 240Z if there's one on it.
