Z32 In Classic Cars

NSX - we have a member with one and I've seen it, immaculate but not used much.

That sums them up ! A Japanese Ferrari....the more you use it - the lot more it costs.

I'm with Franky and although seemingly not politically correct - run a well-sorted 240Z for cheap classic- car motoring and thrills.

I still don't see the point of blocking £14k in a mass-produced modern Japanese super-car (and double that in the others shown) with the intention of it being worth loads (when ?) later.......!

Pre-'75 will always attract more money (ducks for cover) !

I wrote what many think!

..... its the attitude typified by Datsfun but held by others that stops me ever posting anything about my car on here.

...... And Im not singling Datsfun out either. Live and let live.

Hi Pete, it's not the "attitude" but a fact I was stating. I was not belittlin or knocking down the Z32 but merely stating what reality is IMHO (majority z32's I have come across have FRP additions in varying dosage). That's their scene and yes it's a case of live and let live.

The Z32 is still far cheaper to purchase than all of its rivals of the day. Probably because a lot more were produced, particularly for the US. So yeah, it's probably the best investment of them.

Good man - there you are then !

The article wasn't about long-term investment - that's you $-seekers that have introduced that into the discussion ; the article was about best buy to enjoy now, on the road (and/or track) and for the money, you can't beat a Z32.

After that I think the the NSX is a fabulous car - I watched them race and win their class in the LM24hrs but I wouldn't touch a Supra....do an engine swap into a Z as has been seen - yes.

Because you class those cars as sports-cars ?

I thought that they were supercar GTs ?

So are MGBs sportscars too ?

I don't wish to take this thread off topic:p:eek:

BTT, has anyone read the article? Is it complimentary to the Z32 overall?

For me the Z32 will always be the "one that got away".... as a 21 y old I had promised myself that I would get one by my 30th..well that came and went and so did my interest in the model.

You grew up then ?

I drove one back in '92 - nice but not my idea of fun driving : horses for course !

It was fair I suppose. The Z32 deserves a bit more credit than it was given though - for instance, one of his biggest criticisms was the car's weight, but it was the heaviest possible variation being driven. No mention was made of the other options, whereas several of the other cars don't have such options!

The NSX is a great car but prices have gone through the roof and I have never liked that big rear end. Drove a mates yellow manual 90's NSX around the Dundrod road circuit and it was a nice safe drive but my swb tt 300zx would of got round the track faster. The vtec felt sluggish compared to the twin turbos.
