Don't know about the R200 pinion bearing, but I'm told the R180 one is NLA :(

Depends how hard you look!

Nissan didnt make bearings themselves . Youcan even see the NSK numbers one one pic.

Here is a R200 version.....................

Pete,
I took the nr on mine to the local bearing guy and he said it was NLA as well, but if there's a source, will be glad to find it :)

Hey Rob, sorry but its just old age
Getting a lot of finger trouble lately, its not easy typing in the dark!!:D

Got another diff from Smokie(Graham) Nice chap with a very nice and straight early 240z.
So here's hoping this one is not another boat anchor!!

Nice bit of gathered info Andrew. I did it a while ago for my R190 diff, makes having the info handy when needed.

Just an update, spent last night swapping over to another diff, also found a split nut on one of the driveshafts.
Every thing now 100% so many thanks to Graham(smokie). less noise than any diff I have had before,
I suspect pinion height and bearings gone on old diff, as the preload is way too low.
Will rebuild it hopefully at a later date.

This was very helpful, thanks Andrew.
However, for my R200, I found the front roller bearing is a 32306 not 32305.
Not sure if there are variations or a transcription error somewhere?

Just had a quaife swapped into an r180. It was just a straight forward swap rather than a full rebuild. All of the old crown wheel bolts stripped their threads when re torqueing. I did notice there were all marked with an R on the head. Anyone know what this signifies? We ended up replacing all the bolts and they torqued up fine.

So Mr Johny, given the small fortune you have spent on previous attempts, have you now found someone who can be trusted to build these diffs correctly!?

I took them to a friend of mine, Ron Kiddell of RK Tunning. They built my r154 gearbox with all the custom internals I supplied and that’s still in one peice. The r200 feels better and is no noisier than it was (it has the usual overrun whine). I haven’t tried the R180 yet. I’m not sure he would take on this sort of work normally as he is always snowed under with skylines which is 99% of his business.
