My car sold yesterday so that's me away, I enjoyed building and owning my car for the 4 years I've had it and thanks to the people who've helped me over the years with parts and advice, You know who you are :cheers:.

I'm hopefully moving on to another classic all be it only 20 years old rather than 40 so should be a bit more usable all year round up here in sunny Scotland, In fact I'm so confident I'm getting rid of my cooper and plan to use it as my only car, Wish me luck lol.

Anyway thanks again guys

Hope you dont mind me jumping in here Rob but just wanted to say you built a fantastic car, very solid, reliable and yes im a very proud new owner. :).

I drove the car all the way down from Perth to Bath yesterday through all types of conditions and traffic and i must say the car ran faultlessly. Carbs need final tune but other than that temps were all spot on.

Thanks again for all your time Rob, very much looking forward to getting stuck into the car, got a few plans for the old girl. Enjoy your new car.

Regards

Wills

Buy another Z Rob, from what I can gather we all liked your patter...............

I might look for a 2+2 sometime in the future as it would be more practical than the 2 seater for me and the family, But I'll get the Saab 900 classic aero out of my system first ;).

Rob, the problem is you never really got to know your car and fine tune it to you! I got the feeling the Pulsar was the one and a Z is nothing like a Pulsar. Perhaps the Saab will be 'the one'. As always to us enthusiasts cars are more than just metal they have a soul and you either 'click' or you don't.

You did the right thing - good luck with your future projects

Thanks Rob, Your right I did love the pulsar but I enjoyed working on the Z far more it was a lot easier, Your right I never quite got it to run how I'd of liked but I learned a lot and I know exactly how I'd do it next time, First thing is to get some throttle bodies and an ecu ;).

I remember how well my old Saab used to drive and always regretted swapping it for a 750 BMW, I have plans for the susp and brake upgrades already. But I've bought it from 600 miles away on faith so lets hope it's as good as it looks and I like the way it drives otherwise it's a long way back with a sad face :lol:.

I already bought a nice set of 16" Carlsson wheels for it , So the modding has already started,

I've owned 4 myself years ago in sequence 99 turbo/8v turbo/8v turbo and last but not least 16v aero and I agree it was one of the best cars I've owned and was great to drive from memory, I'm just hoping this one will be as good its a full pressure turbo version so should be fun.

My first plan is to buy a full spare set of susp components and have them blasted and powder coated/poly bushed and fitted by my local garage because I'm not getting dirty anymore ;).

As well as some 35mm lowering springs and a nice set of uprated shocks and that will do for a while until I've lived with it for a while.
