Its arrived V2.0 :)

Does anyone know if there's a guide to what size screws/bolts/nuts go where? The painter still has my factory body manual.

The want list so far....

both front air guides.
Matched lock set.

Whats the best spray glue people have used for the interior?
Also, the best jute type material to use?

Make that

Front and rear light gaskets
both front air guides
matched lock set
inner wing rubber seal
door jam switch x2
bonnet closer stops(rubber things)
Decent brakes to fit under 14inch wheels

I'm going to sell an arizona z carb brake kit(new).
15" rota Grid V's (new)
appliance slot mags with new tyres

Should be able to sort you out with all of the above when you pay a visit...

Lovely job so far.

Impressive attention to detail.

Well done especially with all that's going on in your life (house, bikes, garages etc)

Where did that four and a half years go?

I know. Life has raced by!

I've just removed the wings/bonnet/doors and they are now hanging from the garage roof.

Can't quite pick a point to start at!

Whats the most sensible rebuild order?

Coating box sections
Sound deadening
painting the above
Chassis subframe parts
Suspension
fuel/Brake lines
wiring looms
interior trim(glued parts?)

I've a few bits of under car stonechip/paint/sealer that I need to sort first off also.

Just think Rob, you had a bid on this car a few years ago!

I'd forgotten that.

I can remember you (for a neighbour) and I were bidding on the blue rally car.

I'm still waiting to see how you cope with that Subaru diff. I hope you prove me wrong (gearing).

Anyway, it's a lovely car congrats.

Get the dirtier jobs out of the way first - waxoiling in the box sections etc ... you don't want anything getting dirty so work on the bare shell and get that done.

I'd do everything you've got to do on the body first. And have a big wipe board up with a list on it so you can do it in order.

Remember: this is the BEST bit!

As a small update, the cars away again having the paint sorted. Had to blast the engine bay back to bare metal.....

While its out of the garage I've started on bits that should speed up getting it rolling.

I made a bearing guide on the lathe to support the control arm after bending one myself. Took just over 8 tonnes to press it in!

I had a load of stuff plated.

Took some advice and just gave a tub full to a company, who cleaned and yellow zinc coated it. Great work and surprisingly cheap. Saved me a couple of days work also.

Finally made my mind up about calipers. It was helped by the fact the replica mk63's aren't being made any more.

1.8kg vs 4kg. The should look very subtle behind the wheels. I'm going to run 280x25mm discs. I'd like discs and bells but the budget won't allow for now, however I think i've found a disc I can use by just redrilling. I'm going to buy the cheapest version I can as a test(£25ish), then go for a quality version once I know I can measure correctly.

I'm hoping the weight of the caliper offsets the extra weight of the disc. Leaving me weight neutral but a massively uprated setup.

Just to compound things. A replacement rear arm i've got has damage/bend and seems to be a couple of mm out so I need an arm again.

I'd like to get all the chassis parts ready to bolt on(ish), when I get the shell back.

Each to their own!

Racing calipers/drilled disks don't do it for me - but what does is a shed-load of replated parts - love 'em! :D
