Just one hour? Someone needs a word with that dealer! You could win one for a week here! ;)

Seriously though, how do they expect you to make a decision in one hour? I had mine all afternoon and I nearly had it all day but someone else booked a test drive for the morning last minute.

RE there being no spare wheel, the base model (i.e. the one without the Bose stereo) has a space saver rather than the Bose base speaker. If you want to install a spare then you'll have to ditch the Bose speaker on the GT and GT Ultimate cars.

I'm glad you liked the 7-speed auto flippy thing Rob. I quite liked it but my niggles where that 1st was too low-geared and I thought it would have been better if the paddles moved with the steering wheel.

Yeh ok but the paddles are long and a gear lever doesn't move with the steering wheel.

Update - I had a drive in a 7 speed Tiptronic 370 over the weekend and loved it. I didn't realise the Tiptronic has synchro rev too, so as you come to a slow corner you just touch the downchange paddle and it blips it before changing and no clutch in sight.

Folks, I've not actually seen Synchro Rev mentioned in connection with the Auto box - anybody got a 'link'?

Found a video:

That'll be because it's called Downshift Rev Matching on the Auto.
It blips when in manual (Tiptronic) mode i.e. paddle change not auto change.

Just got back from a few days in Cornwall (Sennen near Lands End). Got to know my 370Z better now and loving most things about it.

I have been experimenting with the Semi-auto transmission to find the best way to drive it. One reason I chose a SA was to have a bigger change from my 350Z and it brings a whole new dimension to the driving. For the use this car will get SA suits me fine, if I was taking it on track I'd have a manual for the control when cornering under power but for the road this is just magic. My 240Z on track with this SA wouldn't be half as much fun or effective.

Whilst I was getting used to the car I tended to stick it in 'Drive' and enjoy the relaxation. However the best way (and most satisfying) is to use the paddle-shift (up & down the 7 gears) especially on fairly fast twisty roads. When coming to a stop it's best to forget changing down and let the Auto over-ride the paddle-change (which it does it if you leave it to it). If you are in a tight corner and the paddle isn't by your hand then change with the gear lever (+ or -) bit like a sequential manual box.

Fuel consumption is heavy, I've been really careful 95% of the time to test mpg and it's given 26-27 mpg, my 350Z would have given about 32 in the same conditions. It has only done 3k mls though so a bit tight yet .

Road noise is very high (I'll fit Continentals next) and it tramlines occassionally - I think the tyres are too wide really for road use.

Overall I love it - not many about though, I didn't see another 370Z - have you?

I think you have the right technique allowing the auto to change down itself - when I test drove one I found me and box switching down at the same time. My mpg is lower than my 350 but then I suppose another 0.2ltrs and approx. 50bhp is going to have an effect. I can't say I am aware of it improving over time (I am on 11k now) but as a guide I drove about 450 miles yesterday mostly on the motorway and in the 90's and I got just less than 28mpg.

I recently put some (very) DIY sound proofing under the boot mat and that has improved the noise. I found the vertical tonneau cover for the 350 was a great help but, of course, you haven't got that option on the 370.

I've only seem 1 other 370 on the road but obviously a fair few on meets :)

I drove a 370Z last weekend. It was great, but for me it was very similar to the 350Z (just a bit tighter all round)-which is a huge compliment to the 350, when you think of how much you can pick a 350 up for in comparison to the 370!

That said - I do plan to get a 370 in the next year!!! (A nice white one for me!)

I loved my 350 and it drove really well considering it had done 120k mls and still on original dampers/springs etc. It had the new engine/clutch/flywheel at 100k so it would have made a great basis for track car for me to use alongside my lads in the 240. Also it sold for £6.650 so not a massive amount to risk really. I bought a second set of Rays and some track tyres but I just know I would have spent a fair bit on setting it up and at the end of the day it was my 'shopping car'.

The 370 is lovely too, Nissan make some great sports cars!

I still have very fond memories of my 350 a year on.

White is a great colour for the 370 - and, from experience, the most popular :)
