'samuri n42 cylinder head'

This is a genuine samuri n42 cylinder head built by kevin irons (the "favoured" partner of spike anderson. It has only completed around 4500 miles since build. It has the id mark and comes with a 74 degree camshaft. Only selling because of ill health. £1250.00
i also have a short 2.8 engine for sale from the same engine as the head, flat top notched pistons.

I'm sorry to hear of your health Nigel - I consider that a good price for a Samuri head !

Thanks Sean. It's not life threatening. Just a severe back problem that's not going to go away.

Hi Nigel
Just wondering if you know what performance gains would be seen on this compared to a standard N42 head on an L28?

Also do you know what compression this head would produce?

Thanks

Tom

Hard to say (flat top or dished pistons?) Ask one of the Samuri owners
Compression ratio around 9.5 with flat top pistons.

It might help your sale Nigel if you could add some more info on the head.
Confirm that valves are std 44in/35ex.?
Specify the chamber volume.?
Specify the inlet port diameter at the face.?
List the cam duration and valve lift.?

Thanks for your advice Pete.
As I didn't build the head (Kevin Irons) I can't vouch for the chamber volume although the head thickness is 108mm which is standard I believe so plenty of scope for upping the compression ratio.
Valves are 44/35mm
Inlet ports 35mm +or- 0.5mm "throated" for gas flow.
Cam timing. All I have for this is the timing but I think it's the same as "Petes" 74 degree cam.

Apologies, it wasn't Petes 74 degree cam but in any case it's the same type I used on my rally car, power from 1800-6000rpm.
