i used a single pole dual throw switch to divert power from the coil to the horn.
that way if someone tries to start the car without flipping the switch first they will sound the horn.
until the switch is turned so power goes back to the coil it will never fire up.
best bit about it is its quite possibly the cheapest option.

a good alarm sytem is the toad ai606 which works very well with central locking.

I realise that this car wasn't locked apart from the locked building it was in, but it shows the lengths these thieves will go to to get what they want.

Yes guys, I know all this about cars being 'taken' however the first thing to do is try to prevent break-in and drive/push off.

If I'm not right why don't manufactures fit trackers?

Cost I assume.

They fit steering locks, alarms, immobilisers before trackers.

Most thieves are not going to bring a lorry are they?

What security is on GTRs, Porsches etc? Do they have trackers?

Not that I've seen; probably stripped right down one would assume. It was valued at 120k at the time. Bloody shame.

Tell Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, etc to go to Amazon, only 20.70 a pop

https://www.amazon.co.uk/XCSOURCE-Tr...tection+System

Ah but I guess by the time they have added a Ferrari sticker to it the cost will now be 2070

I normally just remove the rotor arm to stop chancers if I'm leaving the car for any length of time. 5 second job and fits on your pocket, car ain't going anywhere then unless towed and you can't stop that. Mind you might have a look at one of those trackers.

My favorite in car theft solutions,

Battery isolator, fixed to the battery post or remote/hidden(use the earth cable)

Fuel pump/coil hidden isolator switch,

Remove rotor arm

This looks interesting, saw it in a Car Mechanics mag a year or so back and kept the page
