If you can somehow preserve the patina you could have a really unique looking Z there Dan!

..obviously remove them horrible US bumpers though..

Stick with the original mooted plan - respray it externally in the original colour. The patina is interesting, but if memory serves me, the bonnet needs a little attention at the front left - just whacking a matt clear on it isn't going to cut it.

I'm biased though. I like shiny. The whole rat look thing is overdone, painfully trendy, and 90% of people will think it looks like ****!

BTW, what are you planning to do about the yellow seats and door cards?

(for those who haven't seen the car, any of the brown interior that's been exposed to the sun has gone pale yellow, creating a rather interesting look! )

I have my old 240Z seats so may get those recovered correctly.... I would love to make the interior my own though, may have a chat with MJ interiors.. If I could find all my old 240Z parts I could use them and keep all the original bits so its easy enough to put back stock...

Im not really into the whole rat look either Richie, I think she deserves a nice paint job after all these years.

Yesterday I did dig out my old front bumper - yet to find the rear. Its not in bad shape, still strong - might be able to get it rechromed (matt black at the moment) but the all important early bumper brackets were still attached so bonus there!

Did also find some old badges and a load of other spares (propshaft/stub axles/centre console -although its the early one and been cut about and loads more. Suprisingly although the lower edge of my rear doors is a bit shabby the condition of my old 240Z doors isn't bad so they will make a nice spare!)

The bonnet has some serious paintwork cracks on the drivers edge (LHD remember!) but is still solid metal underneath.

What struts were those? 🙄 Traded some bits and cash his way for the entire rear running gear... Need to decide on suspension set up still but bargain for now.

Strip and re under seal. Freshen up the engine and replace worn parts as and where needed. And get the car painted.
Using this as inspiration...
I also have a 5 speed I don't need I think Dan...

Cool, I thought about that myself! How much better is the 200SX box? They are so expensive now because of the drifters using them to convert auto S bodes

I agree - drove mine for the first time last weekend. very positive & solid movement and the throw is much shorter. I rather miss the 5th gear whine though.

What would your comment be if the interior was still brown I wonder.

I've seen this car today guys. This is what folks should buy if they want to get into S30s, NO rot and NO messing from new.

I love it!

Interior poor and lots of detail to do BUT the car has integrity which a lot of S30s don't have.

If Joe Public saw a car like this they would be put off but this is a GOOD one.
