Oh, and I realized there's a welding opportunity on the car if you want one (although easy to replace) - the RH door window frame has snapped at the top corner!

I have sold or scrapped a lot of standard parts I wish I'd kept. The problem is storage.

Yes Rich it is indeed broken! So I'll either source a replacement or repair that one, looked quite a simple fix - just need some more stainless wire.

That picture is what made me want to return my black zed to its original brown. even thought about a standard RB25 to go in it, the same as that car.

So I collected her Saturday and she's now at the garage.

Will start collecting parts ready for rebuilding.

First though, anyone have some standard suspension legs? I don't want to cut my stock ones..

Thanks for all the kind words.

I have noticed a couple of things when trying to sort the lights out.

The indicator in the up position wasn't quite making a good connection. Stripped it and cleaned the contacts, although I found some of the parts are quite worn so it still isn't perfect, have to push it up a bit harder than id like to make a proper connection.

The heater fans do not work, I'm assuming it's a fuse but this won't be needed for the MOT anyway.

The front marker lamps also do not work.

The ignition barrel has been replaced at some point and rather than the two wires coming from the top part of the barrel having a male and female spade they are both male. Looking at a wiring diagram I assume all these are for the door buzzers - well it needs new door jamb switches anyway unless I can fix the ones I have.

Brake pedal is good although I've ordered new hoses all round as on quick inspection they look a bit perished.

Could do with finding a new metal front headlight surround, I have the old plastic ones off of my old car but they aren't correct for that year.

Cheers,
Dan

My first reaction is that the engine bay and interior are in great condition.

Shame about the black boot carpet and speaker box.

Very often with classic cars it's the other way around - shiny exterior, unloved engine bay and worn interior.

Dan, perhaps give it a wipe with an oily rag, fix the little things and use it for a while before deciding the way to go. Anyway I'm going to see it soon - looking forward to that.
