Thanks for all your replies and helpfull comments guys! Seems to be a few of us in South Wales now Gary! We all need a meet as was suggested in messages!

I have managed to get some more dismantling done on the car. I've taken off the front subframe and suspension, hubs and arms plus the rear arms and diff mounts along with the diff. (can anyone confirm it should be R200 on a '78 260Z? Its much bigger than the one from the 240Z I have)

It's basically ready for shot blasting now, bar a few little things like the brake pipes and a few brackets. I need to take the door cards off and access weather or not the doors can be saved from the rot at the bottom or weather I will need to source replacements. Does anyone have any recommendations for a reasonably priced good shot blaster?

Here are some more photos - the OS wing is just hanging there for storage. I'm running out of parts space!!! Note the breaking S2000 in the background!:

I certainly have my work cut out and I'm praying not tooo much is going to fall off when the car is shot blast....

Ohh good lord!!
Looks like something was hungry and took a bite out of your wheelarch!!
I thought mine was bad but it didnt have anything like that much rust.
You're well on your way though, most of us have been there but expect to find more rust under all that black underseal.
Are doing the welding yourself?
If so, you are going to get so much pride in restoring a rusted old car into something really nice.
Good luck and keep the pics coming.

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys!

Hopefully I wont find too much more! From the inside the floor pan etc is solid and I cant see much more under the underseal on the front inner wings. We shall see though! Rear arch panels can be bought and I think I'm going to put flares on it so I'm not worried about the arches.

People have brought back MUCH worse that's for sure and I never thought this would be rust free! Whatever rust I find, its bloody being repaired! I'm too far into this to quit now!

Hey Dan!

Yea I remember yours! I Emailed you back when I was looking for one and you helped me out if you remember?

No matter how bad this gets I have your thread to look at to show me how lucky I am welding wise! Yours looks awesome now!

Right well I dropped the car off on Thursday at Hockley. Fingers crossed it doesn't come back in a bag...

Spent most of early last week scraping underseal off the bottom and chipping sound deadening out of the top!

Heres some photos from my journey up.
