Also fitted one of these for the choke lever so I don’t break the brittle console ...

Well Mike you are doing a beautiful job on that interior, well done.

I also fitted one of the choke mounting plates several years ago and it worked very well.

Jimbo, as the cables age and are not lubricated, they tend to get harder to operate which causes the mounting tabs on the underside of the console to break. This plate by-passes those mounting tabs and as you can see, bolts the choke assembly directly to the transmission tunnel. Well worth the money I think.

But where do we get one from? Or is it a case of fabricating one?

I had a broken console due to this and lubricated the cable which needs doing quite regularly to keep it from going again.

They’re on US ebay ... but I drew round my one on a bit of paper so I had the size. They’d be pretty easy easy to knock up to be honest.

Off white - or 'ivory' as they call it ... I'll do a comparison of all of the vinyl when finished and a review of the Furniture Clinic stuff that I'm using ...
