Hello

I've been lurking on this for years now and thought I'd better say hello.
I bought my 260Z about nine years ago shortly before moving to Cyprus.
It then sat in a garage in Scotland until last year when I finally got it shipped over.
Since then the old girl has been registered on Cypriot plates and I am well into a hybrid restomod (RB26 with a lot of carbon, not one for the purists).

Before I bought her.

I fitted flares and Rotas pretty much straight away just before moving abroad.

As much as I liked the blue, I decided on a colour change and this is what she looks like now.

...............and yes, I suffer from a carbon addiction!

The L28 will be replaced with this.

Hello.

Surprised by the 'fit' of the c/f bumpers around the rear of the wings....!

It seems that you have quite a stable of cars , And nice to see someone investing in a 260Z for once :-)

It was only held on by a couple of bolts for a test fit when I took the photo, The bumper is for a 240Z so the mounting brackets are different.

Yeah, I've managed to acquire a few over the years but the Datsun is by far the best looking and will soon be up there with the others in terms of performance!

Ok - just curious and of course those with 2+2s have it even more complicated !

Where do you get to use that sort of performance on Cyprus ?

Looking at the first picture, I thought wow that is a good looking blue Zed.

Seeing it all done in white with the rotas now, I do like it better.

Need some video of it running when the new RB is installed.

Good luck with the rest of the build.

There are a few good roads, especially up in the Troodos mountains!
It's not easy to use all of that sort of performance but better to have it and not need it etc.......!
There is a drag strip at the other end of the island but, in the 8 years I've been there, I've never managed to make to any of the events for one reason or another!

Cheers,

Unfortunately, I'm still a long way off getting the RB in.
I have been working on the interior installing air-con (a must for Cyprus) and still have pretty much all of the suspension to change out for upgraded parts.

Hello Mark, good to see your input.

Has your car ever been owned by someone in Colwyn Bay North Wales?

Many many years ago I say a blue 260 there with a 'short' reg like yours. I took a pic of it at the time (stopped my VW camper to the surprise of my wife). I didn't have a Z then if memory serves me well.

When I first joined the club ten years ago you mistook my 260z for Ross Hamilton's old Zed, which is this one. Also owned by Housequake.

I have a different practice - use what you've got up 'til 100%. And an S30 aint all about max-power - if it was, better to buy a 'vette C6 or something.

Agreed, the RB is being being built for around 500bhp but there is a good chance I will down-size the turbo if I don't get the response I want.
I bought the turbo and down pipe together, secondhand, as a lot of parts years ago.
Hopefully the 275s on the back will help in putting that power down to the road!

The RB is all about the power delivery, there's not much that compares to it!
Yes, normally aspirated V8's, V10's, etc. are smoother (and sound better) but the rawness of the RB coming on boost never fails to impress.
My R34 GTR is putting out 700+bhp and always puts a grin on my face despite having owned it for 11 years (with 8 years at that power level)!

Welcome and good luck with your car. But I am probably the only person on here who will say I prefer the 'before' picture . . .
