Brands track session

Me and Matt went to Brands Hatch tonight for a "testing" track session. Had a great time and the car performed very well. Very happy with the handling and performance of the car. Temperatures were kept to an acceptable level and stabilized around 108*C during a long 15+ laps without backing off. Managed to get in the low 57's and Matt just crept under 57 even with the usual traffic issues.

I'm starting to regain confidence in the car again.

And I will just add Steve Kiddell 57.14 at Brands earlier this season.

Interesting to see times by very different spec 240Zs with a diverse driver mix as well.

A Good and interesting point there Pete,That could change ,is it mostly to do with driving skills or the one with the most power or delivery of power as the cars are so different ?

It is interesting how close all 3 very different cars are.

I had so much fun on the track yesterday and being the competitive person I am, I must focus on getting the geometry setup and maybe even corner weighted. The car has never been setup other than just by eye so I'm sure I here must be some gains to be had. May even put it on a bit of a diet to get it nearer 1200kg. At least maybe empty all the tools and oils from the tyre well.

I feel a bit of competition ahead.

Yes a good day.
First time around Brands in Ten years, rusty to say the least. Front end of the car was superb, a little work to do on the rear.

A little disappointed not to get in the 56's but the data says best possible lap combining the good sectors would be a 56.4. Happier with that, but much more to come from me yet when I get my act together.

I can see a nice little competition brewing Johny

I love a bit of competition. As said, I'm really happy to be in the 57's given I also have lots of room to improve.

Now when's the next evening session.

It would be good to add more data from your HSCC days to this Matt and also Charles Barters more recent data.
The more valid data we have the more useful it all becomes to everyone.
Im assuming Dean Halsey will be racing at Brands some time this season. That should also add more data both from times wwith Dean at the wheel and his pro level racing partner.

The barter car does a lap of brands in 1.48ish.

It makes very good power, no way near some on here though.

The car is nothing radical.
2.9 bottom end, nice head, kiddell cam.
Standard body. Bolt in cage.
Arizona Zcar coilovers, T3 Willwood brake Kit.

Charles Barters best at Brands Indy is a 56.9.
I had the pleasure of Racing against him for seven seasons.
I have beaten him on only a few occasions.
He was and still is the best driver in that championship, He's also a True Gent.

Sorry, i must have read some old results wrong. That sounds like a competitive package to race with.
