So you are keeping with the body as is? Standard bumpers wont fit then. Fiberglass is probably the way to go then maybe bond them into the existing kit.

UPDATES WITH SMILES!!!!!

Spent a whole day on it today, Full service, everything new, the works!!!
Although my gearbox oil still not arrived... ><. Hmmmm..

Anyway.

It had no spark, nothing anywhere. Wires had been chopped to put front pop ups in.. (I had tots of fun getting those off quickly!) Turns out they are from an MR2, so I will be keeping tose as spares for mine.

Anyway, with aid of the original wiring diagram, my dad, and the interested Ice Cream Van Man..... Looooool. Spark gradually worked its way towards the spark plugs... Courtesy of my newly numb hand!

And so the Z fired into life after being stood for 10 years...
(With the help of V-Power!) only V-Power.

Now it starts first turn of the key...

"Z from the dead".

Think that is a decal I will put in the back window when finished...

Also, rust not too bad underneath, worst of the rust is near the front wings.

Going to opt for a bare metal restoration and resorayed in the original copper bronze colour with 2 racing stripes painted on in silver/graphite down the body.

Got a video.

Will post up on youtube.

Also, forgot to add.

Taking body back to original, then going to go down the route of original rear bumper/lights, original wings with smoothed to the body riveted wide arches, and samuri or airdam equivalent front bumper.

Should be SEXY!!!

Engine and running gear are going to be kept original.

I just like riveted arches. And want them wide at the back to fit some nice deep modular wheels.

Going to buy a full Prothane polybush kit for it from the states.

Swap all the bushes out for new ones.

Anyone done this to their z?

Comments?

I'd worry about the bodywork first, take it apart and see what you've actually got.
