The big 50 is coming

THE BIG 50 IS COMING

The big 50 is getting nearer and nearer and before we know it will be too late to organize a big special day for everybody to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Z Car even though there is over 2 years to go

To start the ball rolling lets have some ideas of what sort of day/weekend you would like

Also would anybody be willing to help with the organising of the event

status 18-08-2017 02:21 PM

Thought you meant you Porky being fifty

Mr Ex Jnr 18-08-2017 04:26 PM

What about good old billing for venue

datsun dave 18-08-2017 05:04 PM

Back to Billing.

Paul_S 18-08-2017 05:24 PM

I'm not sure where but how about a few meeting points so people from various parts of the country could choose to join a convoy to the destination?

The parade lap we had for the 40th (I think!) was epic too :)

I like the idea of either having accommodation nearby (camping is fine by me) so we can have a couple of shandys during the day / evening. In fact if you can arrange a beer tent....!

I'm looking forward to it already!

status 18-08-2017 05:41 PM

Count me in

STEVE BURNS 18-08-2017 07:15 PM

Not sure if Billing are having car shows there any more I believe they are under yet another new owner and I am sure I read somewhere that they were dropping shows
I will try and check

Mr Ex Jnr 18-08-2017 07:47 PM

Be nice if they still did car shows as it good place there the go kart track there aswell :)

Just been checking and they stopped car shows there at the end of 2016 so they can fill it with more mobile homes
A shame but plenty of time to get more suggestions in on what to do and where

SeanDezart 18-08-2017 09:23 PM

This has to be a UK do then ?

Yeah to try and encourage people to bring them out. Would be nice to get as many zed together as we can. Used to be some good meets at billing strong turnout of zeds more than welcome to bring your self and club France over :)

SeanDezart 18-08-2017 09:38 PM

Why don't you just hijack the Sammy meet but publicise it via the press, net and blogs , FB etc ?

Mr Ex Jnr 18-08-2017 09:42 PM

It's a idea I was thinking we may have to hold it at a show and try get numbers up. There were a lot that turned out to the first samuri meet at Donny

SeanDezart 18-08-2017 09:47 PM

In these days of internet and you tube where people are used to pushing the replay button to 'participate' at home on the sofa witha beer and popcorn, you need something to entice the punters to actually get in their cars !

Mr Ex Jnr 18-08-2017 10:05 PM

Mot is what they may need

Vaughan 19-08-2017 10:15 AM

Suppose this will have to be a Midlands area meet? There is always sunny South West for a change!
Willing to help Steve if needed!

nospark 19-08-2017 07:08 PM

The new Z might be hitting the showrooms in 2019.
Ask Nissan how they plan to mark the anniversary of the Z. Ask how the club could fit in with their plans.

Woody928 22-08-2017 05:53 PM

Count me in, I imagine speaking to Nissan to see if there are any plans would be a good start.

Otherwise a central location that is feasible for everyone, Donington Park is probably as central as you can get to try and be as fair as possible to everyone.

If I can help I'll try to....

jonbills 22-08-2017 06:12 PM

Some central location options offered here, depending on how inclusive we are.

Dunsop bridge looks good to me - there's a few places around there I'd like to visit anyway.

Arkwright 23-08-2017 01:17 AM

I am willing to book the Z - Fest venue again at Nottingham. It was always regarded as a central point in the country and I think we held around six very successful events there. There is plenty of camping and two good toilet blocks. There are now additional bunk rooms for those too old to camp (I stress these are boy scout quality NOT hotel standard and accommodate 6 - 8 beds in each room.) I can probably still get a band or bands and see if the caterer is still available. If this venue is selected I will need help with organisation during the event.

Depending on financial help from our clubs I would estimate we could have a good long weekend (Fri. Sat, Sun) for around 20 per head plus about 3 per night camping fees.

status 23-08-2017 07:30 AM

I'm depping with the quo experiance at the mo so if you want sum good old boogey rock blues or I've got an 80s band up and running also a classic rock band, bit of a pain being in demand but I'll be there anyway

status 31-08-2017 09:02 AM

End of May,bank holiday is usually nice ,August ,July would still be my choice though

Jake RAH 07-09-2017 01:50 PM

I'm not suggesting this location for this event because I live local (honest gov) but because I think it would be a great place for the event. Silverstone
Also ain't the CZR talking about Silverstone for the 50th. Wouldn't it make sense if the clubs pulled together for this one?
I reckon if we got our fingers out and contacted the organisers of the Silverstone Classic that we could run a parade lap or 3 (again) ;)

Huw 07-09-2017 03:14 PM

Like that idea Jake, would be quite fitting for all take part in a parade lap

already spoke to Jon about this prior to this years to see what sort of response people at the classic gave
there has also been a bit of a chat on face book about doing Zedfest for it also
I would like to throw in the hat the NC500 tour

http://zclub.net/forum/attachment.ph...1&d=1504792040

JK240 07-09-2017 03:55 PM

I agree too, Silverstone would be a great venue, the only downside can see unless the committee get to work on the Silverstone classic organisers might be the cost of entry for members.

I also don't see why it couldn't work as a joint meet with CZR, Donny always seems to work OK?

JK

Mr Ex Jnr 07-09-2017 03:57 PM

I like the idea of Silverstone classic only ever been once and we were on holiday last time the zeds gathered at Silverstone for the parade lap and

zedfest we could do both them shows that year used to be good zedfest edges and the camping add another show to the calender

Mr Ex Jnr 07-09-2017 04:00 PM

I know a few people doing that in the next few weeks.

Yeah, Deffo.

Mike and Alistair Robertson are doing it this weekend, and I've another pal doing it beginning of October in his 911

Russell 07-09-2017 04:49 PM

I am right down south and the car will be finished by then. More than happy to travel anywhere for this event!

STEVE BURNS 10-09-2017 02:08 PM

Just spoken to Kathleen Yule and she told me that the NC500 has turned into a replica of the M25 with the amount of people now doing it and also convoying over from abroad its a bit busy now
