I think it could be sorted.

With a decent welder the patches could be fine and a good fabricator could fix the rear of the sills etc. However it's all down to is it worth spending the time and money on this shell or converting a LHD one.

A common dilema unfortunately and one which has been debated on here a few times.

It just shows how bad a good looking car on a picture can be.

Well it was a sad day yesterday. Heads have been put together and we have decided that the car is almost unusable.
However, I'm determined to get this car on track so we have adjusted the project brief "alot".

A few questions:
Are there any suppliers of steel bodykits? Looking for rear wings which come up as high as possible.

Does the 260z roof match the 240? Mine needs a reskin.

From what I see in your photos, I'd abandon any idea of rescuing this 'shell and cut my losses if I were you. You would be far better off getting hold of a more solid base to work from, and the end result would be far more worth having in the end ( as it won't be made out of MIG wire.... ).

There's was an LHD import for sale on ebay for several weeks recently, and everyone was avoiding it because it's been hit up the 'arris. You could probably rescue that, and convert it to RHD with all the parts from your current car. Might be worth having a sniff around and seeing if it's still available..?

I am looking at another route at the moment. Project costs are mounting so race prepped 911 might be the alternative. Shame really but all depends on what the fabricator comes back with quote wise.

I was well surprised no-one bought them the first time around. I wish I'd put a bid on now! Alas, I have since bought some other wheels, good luck with the sale though, someone could end up with an absolute bargain.

Quick update, car is still progressing and although it will take longer than expected ( as usual ) I am determined to stick with it. Seeing the other restore jobs currently taking place on this forum has given me hope

Anyway, has any member used the following trader before for the rear end conversion?

Great to see that you stuck with it.
There are a couple of lads on here that have experience of there kit. I'm sure they will be along to comment.
I have seen the rear arms they do. Excellent quality but perhaps a bit to heavy weight for my taste but, I don't know how much horsepower you will be running so perhaps ideal for your situation.
