Great input. Looks well thought out and better than the others I've seen.
I've just been reading on a Porsche site that the tiptronic box is actually an auto. Does antone know if this applies to all tiptronics as I thought they were manuals?

All are a version of a juice box either pneumatic , hydraulic or electronic shift controls using the clutch bands to control the speed and severity of the shifts. The only other option is a interupt on the igniton and air shift wich ive only ever seen on top fuel drag cars etc.

Or the Smart car tiptronic!
Push the lever, clutch engaged, gearbox changes gear, engine revs set to match gearbox input shaft speed, clutch released.
