That is pretty impressive to be honest!
I think it's the best I've ever heard of, I used to brag about 30mpg!

Well it is running like a dream at present - but will be undergoing a biggish op on Friday. There are a couple of bottom manifold studs that have sheared off. It has been like that since I bought the car. It is going in to Mark Warburton who is going to get them drilled out then a set of new studs fitted along with gaskets etc. It has not really affected the car, apart from the fact you can hear it blowing faintly, but it needs to be sorted as I like things right. Just hoping it will all run as well after it has been done, but I trust Mark's expertise!

I measured mine a couple of times and for a mix of motorway and town driving I averaged 24.9mpg. This also involved quite a bit of spirit driving in between, so I was pretty happy with that.
The overall gearing plays a very large part in fuel economy in top gear when doing sustained motorway driving. Previously, I was running an overall gear ratio of 3.54, now with a change in tyre profile it's 3.7, and with the engine now revving higher in 5th, my fuel economy has understandably dropped. If all you ever used the car for was motorway driving then fitting a 3.36 would get you 35 plus I'm sure. But would be lousy in town.

Don't worry, I do like to give my Z plenty of thrutch when the opportunity arises - there would be no point in owning a sports car if you didn't - but I never thrash the **** off it because I have too much respect for the car.
