more rust more pics

scuttle panel not looking good, repair needed all round wher windscreen sits and both corners near engine by

not sure how im going to do this one metal so much thinner.

thought about trying to weld this on and cutting old metal off afterwards decided to bend L SHAPE section the length of scuttle panel as both sides curve in different ways
cut away old rusty metal, tack welded L section then cut small Vs every 3 inches or where needed to form the right curves tack each one as i went along very tricky
Once this was done repaired the corners

time to get ready to spot weld it back

now ready to re fit repaired scuttle panel before taking the panel off i took measurements
all across the width and across the diagonals,so when refitting in new it would be right for windscreen, and trims, sprayed where panel is to be refitted.zinc primed areas where going to be welded, then went on to plug weld back in original places.

thank god thats done not fun

yes steve the roof lip repair was next this was not too major ,didnt take any more pics of that repair.so moving on to the doors

bottom of both doors rusted away need to rebuild bottom of door frame ,and put in lower door skin repair panel.hurray Mike has got 2 one is for 2+2 one is for 2 seater so will need to extent one.

lower door skins welded on and grinded down welds just need very light skim of filler and then flat doors

feel like im getting nearer the end of welding time for another dig around will be back with more pics soon,of to santa pod show on sunday might see some of you there

Great job on the doors, very satisfying work. I've done a bit of that myself on a couple of cars Anglia 105E and my previous 240Z.

The feeling going back into the house after a successful few hours in the garage was worth the aggro. I wouldn't want to do it again though.

Nice job of the doors. Mine were to far gone to patch. I had to re-skin mine. A very satisfying job none the less. You will be looking at the backend next then it shouldn't wonder ....
