Sounds like one of those "do up your house to sell TV programmes" but you're right - not a lot of effort made to 'selle it !

What Sean is trying to say is there were only 2 cars officially registered over here in 1970 & the rest are LHDs that have been converted or they are ringers.

AH, thought that is what he was saying just needed comfirmation, it would appear that the 240z was not as popular over hear than in the states, a shame really when you say ringers do you mean lhd converted to rhd or a 1972-3 converted to look like a 1970 with the date correct parts.

No-one converts a later car to look like an earlier car but some have been converted to RHD and others inmpotred and kept as LHD.

Who says that they weren't as popular ? If they'd been offered at a similar price comparitif to MGs and not E-Types and THIS market had exploded and not the US then production would have been aimed at us and not 'them' !

Price was the factor - not preference !

So what's your Zs' history then ? Care to share the chassis number with us ?

How can they be ringers when there's nothing to ring?

I imported the car from florida last year chassis no is HLS30- 08058 a august 1970 240z, the main reason i bought it is because i always wanted a 240z with a v8 in it and this one came with a 327ci 5.4litre chevy v8 and 5 speed gearbox, its condition was nice but not concourse by any standards, ive alterred a lot on the car moved the engine back to the JTR position for better balance, fitted twin electric fans to keep it cool, fitted supperflex bushes throughout, coil over suspension, r200 differential, toyota front calipers, and have the rear disc brake conversion but not yet fitted it, also stainless brake hoses throughout, car came blue but while i was shotblasting underneath and up the side 6 inches of the car to remove some surface rust,i couldnt get a match on the paint when touching up, so thought sod it, took out the engine stripped the car down and resprayed it 110 red, i gave myself 7 out of 10 for the spray job my first attempt, i know its not everyones colour choice but its my favourite colour, i did my last z the same colour, only down side to the car is the interrior is ok but could be better, maybe in the future ill treat myself to a revamp monies allowing,

Yes its still left hand drive, im slightly tempted to convert it to right hand drive but dont know exactly what parts are needed, or even if i can be bothered to do it, as i only drive it occasionaly, also it makes one hell of a noise, one thing the yanks got right is how a v8 sounds cannot rev it in the garage without earplugs in fuking awsome.

This one was registered in Dublin after 1985 as a 30year + car so would'nt count as a British car.

As far as I know, only if it was re-registered in the UK.
