The Classic mags being nice about 280ZXs? Whatever next - no more porcine flabbiness for you, Mr. Burns?

Seriously - great article and thanks to the members who took part at relatively short notice: Geoff Gale, Richard Clark and Brian Kesterton - three very different approaches to 280ZX ownership. Read it and weep for the 280s you didn't save.....

I bought and avidly read it the moment i saw it Mr Finney, just wondering how 'on the case' are you with superchargers? Is your one running and can you get hold of them if needed?

A very interesting article and gave me something to think about. Just where do I go from here....I could do with an engine overhaul but it won't be until after Billing otherwise I'll have to push it there!

Good use of the advertising page next to it too I thought.

It would've been nice to have some more stats of the difference the various changes made to the performance of the featured cars.... I know it quotes Richard's car at 250bhp....which isn't bad.... * * ...do the owners have any more info?

1. Please note as usual, magazines have toget something wrong - in this case my name! It's Feeney, not Finney or any of the other variants...
2. The supercharger is a bit of a one off project - this unit has already been configured to a Z engine before it came my way in terms of brackets etc., and has previously been used to good effect with draw through SU and blow through triple D'ellortos. I have it set up to blow through a turbo injection manifold with custom fuel system and programmable ECU.
3. Available time is my enemy, coupled with lack of motivation when I do get a spare day to myself.....
4. I will have supercharger systems available as a bolt-on for the 350Z by the time deliveries are made in October.

I know... I was wondering who this Mr Finney was and if he was so prominent why hadn't i heard of him....

Thanks for the info Mike, good luck with the project then. Do you have a rough idea what it's going to give you when you've finished?

Finally, any idea how to get in touch with the garage in Japan that had one pictured....anyone? I'll have to brush up on my nonexistent Japanese...

Excuse me for being stupid, but which "Classics" mag is it. I looked in Practical Classics and Classic and Sports car (I think thats what its title was). Anyway they were both July and not a hint of 280 anywhere. Did we get a different issue over the Border or maybe we just dont get this magazine.

It is just called "Classics" and is published by Highbury - SPL. This is the July issue. Main cover photo is a white RS3100 Crapi (rearrange letters to make a well known rust bucket that you can't buy any parts for any more).
The mag arose from the old "Retro" and "Retro Classics" mags and has a very open approach to modifying classic cars.
