Course it'll work, speak regularly with Mr. F. and I'm sure it'll be a piece of cake. You might need to ditch the weird gearshift mechanism TVR put on and get a regular T5 gear lever. Also don't forget to get rid of the CAT that sits in the big can where the two manifolds meet, no need for that!! In fact I suggest some general resarch into manifolds, not sure if all Rover V8s use that weird 'to the front, bosh together and head to the back' thing. Apparently the Ginetta G33 is considered to have one of the finest Rover V8 sound tracks, so maybe try and and see how that's set up.

Once it's in the car get a nice ACT carbon fibre twin or tripple throttle plenum on it - http://www.actproducts.co.uk/ - and a visit to Mark Adams for one of his Tornado chips and it'll be mightly impressive. These guys are probably within easy reach of you: http://www.austec.co.uk/chips.htm

Cheers,
Rob

I think those manifolds are a TVR only thing, I certainly cant think of another V8 Rover setup like it lol.

Atm the priority tho is to just get it in the hole. If/when that part is done Iíll move onto the ancillaries

Btw, Iíve been looking on ebay for a little while now and have seen a fair few difffo manifold setups for the V8.

Someting like this maybe .....

Mark, study the pics a bit more lol
Been rainin here on n off all day :(

Btw, does anyone know if the v8 manifolds are interchangeable?

Sure I read somewhere they arenít sided as such. i.e they can fit either side if needs be?
I have a plan ;)

Nothing personal and everyone has free choice BUT that is one ugly engine even though you will gain huge (cheap) power ! I hope other V8s look better ! Bravo for the hard work and iniative though !

Markp.com
31-07-2005, 01:58 PM
Its under the bonnet 90% of its life... aslong as it makes the right noise and pumps out shed loads of power, who cares! :D

zedhead260
31-07-2005, 02:02 PM
What sort of power do they make ??

Markp.com
31-07-2005, 02:06 PM
Horse power...

SeanDezart
31-07-2005, 02:36 PM
Here we go again - "right noises" - for a Zed or a TVR :-) ? And of course it matters what an engine looks like, especially an engineering project as this - the bonner will be up at ever stop as people ask what's there ! Shame if it's all scruffy with wires and bobbins and aircraft size exhaust manifolds !

Does style and finesse count for anything or is it purely numbers now - "horsepower" ?

Black Bug
31-07-2005, 02:39 PM
Those Ebay manifolds look interesting. I'm guessing they're not stainless though as they seem to be coated, given what a biatch they are to get at once installed I'd be tempted to get them right first time. Also the fact that the seller states they were to wide for his trike sticks out in my mind, as they're is obviously less width available in the Z engine bay than on a trike! Don't know if you can swap sides on them though, I bet the bolt pattern will screw up any cunning plans you're hatching ;)

Power wise the 4.0l is a conservative and unstressed 240bhp but with a very pleasant 270lbs/fit in the torque department, unless of course you were lucky enough to get a HC (high Compression) version which is rated at 275bhp-305lbs/ft. Definitely a good investment in terms of bhp/£ over th cost of upgrading an L engine to that level.

More pics Wyn, more I tell ya!!!!

Cheers,
Rob

Quit being so down on everything Sean! Of course the engine looks rough, it's straight out of a scrap car. All it will take is a bit of polish and elbow grease and some fancy silicon hoses and it'll look great. Perhaps you should compare it to the hideous mess of wires and hoses that sits in a 280ZX engine bay?!!

Two TVRs:

Story so far ...

Brick wall time ...

Looks good apart from although it's as far back as pos the fookin gearlever still falls to short....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/in1.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/in2.jpg

So out with the whole lot again n swap the box over for a Cossie T5 5spd
Not sure I've got it right on the clutch frt but soon see :D

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/in3.jpg

Might need a remote filter housing ..... and that stupid oil switch is going to be swapped for a smaller one if poss :D

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/in4.jpg

... Good news, atleast I can now get the gear lever in the right place now n it looks like the mounts etc aren't so far out

Nice one Wynn !!!! That should be a great drive, similar weight to a TVR but should be able to get it to handle better. Way to go that man !!!!

If you can retain the sound that will be absolutely awesome !!

Wyn
31-07-2005, 08:05 PM
Right, this is about where it's going to go me thinks :D

(Best try the bonnet next lol)

Mounts aren't to far out as it goes, should be able to use the org Z mount n adapt of that.
Gearbox is another story tho lol, those are miles out!
Need to get the engine bolted in 1st n then be able to see what's what.

Will say one thing, deffo amazed how many things seem to fall into place :)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/in7.jpg

Look like these headers are even right. Will try use them for now as it saves on any more costs.

Exhaust note should be interesting, sort of std Chimaera but louder lol :D

You're welcome to lend a hand :D
esp now as I've got to work out the wiring etc lol

Rad n fans are another story aswell, might look at the TVR rad n see if that'll fit. If not I'm sure I can find summert :)

Rob last interesting one was an R34 engine from a T plate car
made 2.5k tho for the complete engine, inc turbos
To dear for me anyway lol
Few other later TVR's about, but then the price got to much for me, so I just settled for a humble 96 4.0 Chimaera unit.
I can live with that tho

Russ

I must say I'm with Sean on this one, I have never liked those engines when it comes to looks, the inlet manifold is made from playdo, and the wiring is a mess. However the sound will easily make up for it.

Thats some progress Wyn! Tonight I swept up my garage and took out the old brake hoses and I thought I was making good progress! In that time you've changed the engine twice lol.

I'm amazed at how well it's all fitting as well, good for you. Don't forget the radiator though, those zorst manifolds look like they may well boil the coolant.

Well done on all the pics, makes the whole thread much more interesting.

I await the next post!

Don't worry about the rads peeps, if needs be it will live the other side of the frt panel.
Me "MAN" dropped around tonight n assured me the mounts shouldn't be a prob, n if needs be those manifolds shouldn't be a prob either. Shouldn't be too hard to shorten the length by an an inch or so just after where they all collect.

as pic ;)

Ok guys, having seen the photos of polished V8s, I'll stop my comments - do you really believe that they look better than a 280ZX engine ??? No better, no worse but they are in a 240 - simple, strong car, simple, strong engine !

Great work and photos are really interesting and power per pound, no argument but on looks.........

Wyn
01-08-2005, 12:22 PM
lol, 8 - 5.50 as it goes ;)

Not much to photo atm until I get me a few more bits
But I've now just got the fan belt n the rest of the TVR exhaust lol :D
Hoping to have the info on the wiring tomorrow from the local TVR peeps

JAMMY SOD :D

Now they have been sold to the Russian dude should that not moer accurately be a ZVRski ?

You will have that up and running in no time at all - a lesson in what is achievable in the hybrid world in a very short space of time. Looking forward to seeing it !

lol, get mine sorted 1st n then I intend to use it so you might have a wait lol
Getting it in the hole is the easy bit tho
Things are starting to slow down now, lots of fab jobs that I have to wait for others help with :D

And just to prove a point re Cossie/Z x members ....
I could have used it like that, but it pushed the mota to far forwards for my liking ........

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/box7.jpg

.........plus it shoved the gearlever right to the frt again :(

So it looks like I've settled for a in between mount.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/box5.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/box4.jpg

Fab mount to follow....
Sort of how you see it now, but a bit more different, shame as the above was pukka :D

Black Bug
02-08-2005, 01:12 AM
Wyn, you might want to check out the US 280ZX Turbo, that had a T5 box and it's cross member was slightly different, shifted things back an inch or so, not sure if that's enough for you mind.

Aha!
http://www.geocities.com/row4navy/T5swap.html
One at the top is the ZX mount, you most likely recognise the one at the bottom. Depending on your urgency ('cos you're really slow about things ;)) you might want to pop a post on http://www.classiczcars.com or http://www.hybridz.org to see if someone would sell you one.

I'm keeping my eye on this part as I've got a T5 from a Z31 300ZX that will no doubt be a pain for me to fit too!

Cheers,
Rob

Appreciate the info http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Smilies/clap.gif

That mount does look the part too!!

Would be nice to have one here now to try n see where the mota/box ends up.

Sort of decided on whatís happening next now tho, use the org mount but hang it from the rear brks only (tut tut lol)Ö but then make up a U plate to carry the weight to the frt mount pickup points.

Think itíll work lol

If not a few sparks might be bouncing down the rd the 1st time I give it large.

On the search for a remote oil filter kit now http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Smilies/compute.gif

Wyn
02-08-2005, 11:12 PM
1 step forward 2 steps back

One of them days today :(

Most of the morning wasted looking through shelves of flexi hydraulic lines hoping to turn up a suitable candidate for the clutch slave cyl. No joy there! Then was given a remote oil adaptor, but then looked everywhere trying to locate the rest.

Nothing doing there so off to Earls @ Silverstone to see if they could help.

Behold, got me a pukka 240 to TVR braided hose made up whilst I waited, which was very good of them, also bought me the rest of the filter housing plus a few unions.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/slave1.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/pipe1.jpg

Back home bolted it all up n found the clutch hardly moved

So all apart again n try the matching TVR master cylinder

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/master1.jpg

Fascinating fact no 185693

A TVR clutch master cylinder bolts straight onto a 240z lol, not tried it yet as it got to dark n I am knackered lol

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/mastercyl.jpg

Just have to wait till tomorrow now :D

Russ
02-08-2005, 11:40 PM
LOL.

I can feel a shock TVR/Datsun Z car revelation coming, like the TVR is just a clone of a 240 with different panels, or something along those lines. A secret TVR kept hidden from us all.

All this progress, now you're just rubbing it in ;)

Do you think you'll have it built in a week?! :DLuv to say yes, but to many things will be holding me up now, but if it makes any odds I've now got it turning over on the key ;) :D result !!

Sorted the clutch master cyl today aswell as the throttle cable, centred the engine in preparation to get the mounts made, joined up a few wires, connected a fuel feed, positioned the ecu n had lots of cups of tea lol

Oh, started on the pop aswell ......

Fascinating fact no .....185694

A TVR prop is nothing like a 240z prop lol

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/prop1.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/prop3.jpg

So out with the grinder n cut the nose off the Z prop, then sorted a matching Cossie prop, only as reference tho as it's to rusted to use. Will get another tomorrow I hope

Propshaft is now away being made, not cheap but my only option.

Spent the rest of the day fitting a fuel pump n live feed....

Pump started out like this...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/pump1.jpg

Old fuel lines were like this ....

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/pipes.jpg

Now looks more like this...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/pump2.jpg

and this.......

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/pump3.jpg

Yes, I know it hasn't got a surge tank yet, Thats next ;)

Amazing how long it took to fit that pump etc n run a live feed to it, run it all under the carpets/trim etc to get to the rear. Added a new frt to rear fuel line aswell. Still atleast it's another job done now :D

Tomorrow hope to shorten those exhaust headers by a few inch, should be able to run the std rad that way :)

Hi Rob

Iím having the prop made by RecoProp in Luton

Took both parts there today n should be ready later next week.

Will be using the org Cossie frt UJ, but then onto a new yoke, from that into the Z tube but then finishing off with a larger Cossie sized tail joint (their advice) but still retaining the original Z small bolt pattern. Should be the part when itís ready

Ended up just shy of £190 all in

He's currently working on one for the Cerbera whilst also fitting a Chevy LS to his, plus still messing with his insane 520 Wedge. True I do have a life n it revolves around my cars lol :D

Need to do a little more mods here me thinks
Things are just too tight atm. Only about 10 odd mm between the down pipe n the rad :(
Might shorten those headers by another 10mm n find another rad that fits but is thinner in the first place. Pref to keep it std looking tho ;)
One thing, atleast it looks like the hoses should fall in the right places.

I'm definitely getting a bit concerned with them thar manifolds too. The space between them and the strut towers is really tight it looks, I know for a fact that on Chims and Griffs the heat they bang out can burn through the heat protection stuff that's on the inner wing.

I'm thinking something more like this might work:
http://www.rpiv8.com/exhaust-2.htm
Don't know if that will fit between the engine and chassis rails though.

Or maybe something like in the pic here:
http://www.actproducts.co.uk/silencing.php
But minus the cats, would give you more room at the front.

Or even the block huggers:
http://www.popbrowns.co.uk/products2.html

Any idea what the manifold setup is like on the RV8 car Mr. F has?

Cheers,
Rob

Cheers, a few good ideas there, tho I still really want to perspire with my own daft ideas atm lol http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Smilies/doh.gif
Yep I know the pipes are running to close to things atm. (rad will be changed me thinks) But... My new improved "plan B" which is now to run the lot without any cats in them manifolds/downpipe!! Should run that much cooler me thinks. Obv the cat acts as a restriction allowing them pipes to run hot, if I lose all "3" hopefully the lot will then run that much cooler. I also plan to apply some heat shield/mat stuff to the inner wing area to help keep things cooler.
If that don't work i'll revert to plan C .... just gotta work out what plan C will actually be tho lol http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Smilies/mrgreen.gif

ZHead
11-08-2005, 10:39 AM
plan c ? surely that is to mid mount the tvr lump just behind the seats and install a full four wheel drive system ?

if you can do the swap as fast as you have (nuff respect or restecp as ali g would have it) then plan c should be a sunday afternoon's tinker.

you have single handedly debunked the myth that a v8 swap is long and tortuous.

Russ
11-08-2005, 07:50 PM
With Wyns progress I think he could cut the engine in half and have four cylinders up front and four in the rear! And he could do that whilst the tv adverts were on.

Don't forget you'll want a fan on that radiator :D I know it won't help weight distribution but is there room for a slim ally rad infront of the support panel with a push fan infront of it? Might look like the Skylined engine 240 though with the massive intercooler on the front.

Wyn

But, things arenít going to my other plans atm!

Having a few probs with oil pressure, like it hasnít got any lol http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Smilies/doh.gif

Also having fuel leak probs, like petrol pi55ing everywhere every time I cranked it over http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Smilies/confused2.gif

I soon found out why tho :(

Look at the injector in pic 1 and you should spot why

If not look closer at it in pic 2

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/inj2.jpg

Somehow and donít ask me how the O ring has gone walkies of that injector!!

Fook knows how cos to get it out of the manifold the whole injection rail had to be lifted. Itís not up the fuel rail ever b4 youthink it is :p

Still, I found me an O ring from a Cossie injector that fits just right, so thatís that little prob now sorted.

Excellent work, minor teething problems which you are solving systematically. Well done..

If its not the oil pump that needs priming could it be a faulty oil sender or gauge?

Wyn
21-09-2005, 11:01 PM
Cheers Rob

Yes, I was aware of the early V8 engines having oil priming issues, but not the later serpentine engines as those have direct drive crank oil pumps.

Anyway, Iíve left it now over overnight with the remote oil lines primed in the hope to get things moving again for tomorrow.

Soon see http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Smilies/pray.gif http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Smilies/laugh.gif

Wyn

Itís not bad imo, esp as thatís the 1st time its run lol. Iím sure when it has some exhausts itíll sound even better :)

As you can see in the vid bits are all over the place, but now Iíve heard it actually run its time to clean things up n sort out whats going where.

wyn, just to let you know i was talking to a mate of mine who runs a tvr garage and i mentioned the oil pump lack of pressure at first and they apparently pack the oil pumps with vasaline after even an oil change because its a common problem. (just for future reference if needed....ta paul)

Wyn
28-09-2005, 09:32 PM
Cheers Paul

I was aware of probs (changing an 1985 Range Rover V8 engine taught me that one) but that was only with early V8ís. As this is a 96 serpentine engine that prob shouldnít exist anymore as the oil pump is driven direct from the crank, aka CVH Ford stylie pump inside. Tbh tho Iíve still to look into that, but as it has oil at the filter and at the switch now Iíve taken it for granted the pressure is there.
Soon see lol

Just back from a visit to Wyn's, to check out a gearbox, very nice to meet you and enjoy a cuppa whilst nosing around the blue beasty. Have to say that the engine install is excellent and was very good to hear it start up and scare cows 3 counties away, seems a shame to have to put an full exhaust on ;)

BTW Just checked in the T5 rebuild manual and it says to torque the 4 bearing plate retainer bolts to 15lb-ft if you wanted to double check that, that's probably about hand tight with spanner anyway!

Cheers,
Rob

Got a bit more done after you left but not much, changed a few bolts here n there with those from my latest ebay buy.

Hopefully the oil pressure issue is now put to bed atlast

We have movement of the needle at last lol

I should of thought about the Zed sender first, but it didnít occur to me that it could give such a different reading to a V8 sender

Luckily the V8 comes with an oil sender adapter as std n my Zed sender screwed straight into it.

Russ Iíve a new front valance on order now, so I hope to be able to duct air from that. :)

Mark if I had the bits Iíd say next week lol

I wish

Looks like a good few weeks yet still.

I now need to get one of the water outlets repositioned on my nice new alloy radiator http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Smilies/doh.gif Not what I really want to do, but I canít see a way of me getting around the lower hose hitting the o/s exhaust section.

Needs an exhaust system sorting aswell as a slight prob of the clutch not disengaging. bugga http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Smilies/dowa.gif

When will it ever end http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Smilies/pray.gif

Fired it up in gear n within a few feet the clutch disengaged. :)

Nothing much I know :D but enough to keep the lower hose away from the exhaust.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/newrad3.jpg

Atleast I can now get on n sort the hoses out. Might even get to run it for a bit longer with water in it aswell lol

oh, n I found me a few ol seats that might fit ;)

I do like them seats aswell but Iím still having major probs with them  like I cant for the life of me see what stops the runners coming apart. Things were getting desperate earlier esp as I had the grinder out cutting n shutting an exhaust. But I resisted as they cost me too much lol :D

At least I did manage to sort the hoses out today n after a few trips trying to find suitable sized jubilee clips I was able to add water

I have been looking into possible replacement seats myself.

I have heard that Audi TT seats fit, I'm sure they also come without all of the elec gumph too!
Don't happen to have any lecy ones of those hanging round the yard too do you?

Regarding the Boxster seats, are they still 'available' Wyn? I could be interested?? Do you reckon they would fit? Height/Width? Lecy seats is ideally what I'm after, i'm just a glutton for wiring punishment!

I have a pair of TT seats that will be recovered in the right leather when the time is right......... subject to them fitting - have not actually measured yet ! They are not electric but do have heater elements in them. Mighty complicated according to audi to get the heaters working without lots of other wiring from a TT.

Juries out on the Boxster seats atm

Waiting for a good price from above before I make up my mind on them. But I did get to look at another set today n they didnít look that wide that they wouldnít fit. Not sure they are elec as such either. They did have wires going to them but I couldnít see any motors as such. Prob just heated after all?

So out it came again n onto getting the exh sortedÖ. Only to find I cant get the pipe I wanted locally. Sod it so I went to see what a system would cost to have made for it. Soon see
Next came the changing of the fuel pumps after the original one packed up on me.

3 times I removed/changed the fuel pump (3 diffo pumps n then fixed the org again in the end) n I still cant get the thing to run now. The occasional fire is all Iím getting

From looking at the pictures the seat seems to sit quite tall in the car, well taller than the original 240 seat anyway, is it just an optical illusion?

Wyn
24-10-2005, 10:10 PM
No it does sit higher
Or atleast it does with the std runners that are on it atm.
The seat base is a lot longer aswell lifting you knees up nearer the frt, but then it slopes back to about the same as the std 240 seat.
Still higher tho

zeeman1972
25-10-2005, 12:12 PM

Good enough imo to want to do something with tho. I can't touch the floor flintstone style so it'll do for now :D

Another day faffing about getting it running

Dunno why but seems to like flooding itself now

New set of plugs seemed to cure it so onto business again n get the ecu tucked away

Run the loom up over the top out of the way.

Rubber backed the ecu to keep away them nasty vibs then screwed it to the inner kick panel area.

Ok, here I state clearly that I do NOT class 900ss in the same group but each time I've been over to Z meets, the standard of engineering is superb, the 'to see' finish' is also great but there are many cars that I don't expect the owners to keep dry feet in next winter ! Why ?
Out of sight, out of mind ?

Boy the joys of working outside in the freezing cold at this time of year!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Smilies/dur.gif

Yes that is frost on the grass :santab:

A passer by commented on how rare those Zed cars were now, but at that point I was laying underneath struggling like fook to get that new cross member to line up. All I could think of at the time was there is just about to be one less Zed in a minute.

A little shave here n there ...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/cradle1.jpg

Braced the xmember to add a bit more strength :)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/cradle2.jpg

Used all new solid bushís and a thick U brace on the underside to help support
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/cradle3.jpg

Gotta jet wash it soon

Managed to get the lot to line it up in the end after ages of faffin about http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Smilies/bowdown.gif At least the box is held up proper now.

Then back onto the O/S heat shield to give the leads more clearance. Also started to make up some heat blanket to try shield the brake lines and wiring on the o/s

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/shield3.jpg

Also started on another to go in front of the crank.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/shield4.jpg

Doesnt look much atm ;)

Just hope next weekend will be warmer http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Smilies/pray.gif

Captivated nuts now welded to the o/s heat shield. Fits a treat

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/shield6.jpg

Tried to fit a new battery but it didnít seem to fit http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Smilies/confused2.gif so got the **** n took it for its first 100yrd dash to let off a little steam.

Unfort I didnít.

I did think about it but thought best not, atleast till the cars a little more rd legal that is.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Smilies/mrgreen.gif

Found me a cold air feed so added that to help duct cool air to the filter then decided to add some more heat insulation, so off with all the heat shields again n used heat matt to insulate the lower inner wing areas.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/heat8.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/heat7.jpg

Spot the difference?

I think it looks reasonably discreet n should now keep the heat at bay at the same time.

Then moved onto another little job ....

Ok I lied a wee bit about them fitting, to fit them you actually need re drill two of the holes in the TVR runners to align up with the original holes in the Datsun floor, but thatís it!! Other then that they bolt straight in using TVR runners. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Smilies/pray.gif

No pics this weekend

To cold n to dark lol ;)

Not much happened anyway apart from sorted a few jobs id been putting off.

Fitted a new front to rear Aeroquip fuel line at last. Used that as a fuel in n the solid line I had fitted before as a return. A job that needed doing for ages but Iíve been putting it off as itís a messy one lol. Then onto filling the gearbox up with oil, again a messy job as the filler hole isnít the most accessible now, plus it meant making up a filling tube.

Then finally got round to fitting a new G/F frt valence I had bought for it a few months back. Looks good n is a lot more sturdy then the old one. Also replaced the central support for it (home made by a friend) as my old one had rotted away

Today managed to go get me another complete rear suspension n diff assem for the princely sum of £20. Half of it no doubt is prob u/s, but for £20 I wasnít going to complain, esp as it now gives me a R200 to play with at last. :D

Hopefully the coolant fan I just won off fleebay should be in the post Monday, so thatís the last job before MOT time :)

George assuming you still want one?
Iíve just put a deposit on a plated lsd unit to go into one of those R200ís
As soon as thatís available (could be a month? Less I hope http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Smilies/pray.gif ) Iíll have a complete std R200 for sale if you still need it. :)

oh n I bought one of these to go with it  :D

Another freezing day

Still onwards n upwards

A few pics of the previous days events

Cooling fan fitted (originally from a S2 RS turbo)

Just rigged it up temporarily today. It worked better then I expected aswell. Brought the temp right down so it must be doing something right.

Hopefully getting a boss welded into the top SS rad hose so it can have an otter switch to control it properly next

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/rsfan2.jpg
Front support fitted (needs welding in situ still)
Bit stronger then the ol one :)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0703/900ss/Zed/frtbrkt1.jpg

Also made a few new brackets to at last get the grill on the car.

Looks pi55ed, best not be :D

Hehe nice work.

Are you going to put any more of a cowl on that rad fan? Or is there no point if it's blowing through the radiator? I think I read somewhere that the shroud is probably more important than the fan.

Rad and hose looks very nice :D
