Having a look around my local Halfords yesterday at the Professional Socket Sets that are in the sale 18 piece 3/8 drive set £44.99 down to £19.99 and 36 piece & 1/4" drive set £34.99 down to £14.99 and both sets are covered by lifetime guarantee.

All Halfords Pro tools are just badged Sealy kit. Halfords offer a lifetime guarantee on their Pro stuff. The only thing it dooesn't cover is the ratchet mechanism, but you can get them as a spare item. Whenever you buy any Pro stuff keep the reciept in a safe place (I have a pot in the garage specifically for it), but before now I have taken just the tool back and they can see that its theirs and do a direct swap.

For peoples interest if you have any form of Mechanic's certification (i.e. NVQ 1 and above) you can apply for a trade card which can save you a shed load on their tools and service items. One example is wiper blades. £19.99 for their own brand for a pair ... £8 with their trade card. Batteries just over half price is another.
