Headlight Switch

Fried my lights..

Had a lazy bulb - got curious, after 3 or four off and ons, it now doesn't come on.

Relays all OK - don't know how that light sensor thing works.
Fused Links all OK, so I am wondering if it's the switch,
the sides and rears come on, but no dipped or main beam,
although the angry wasp sounds when you open the door.

Any ideas?

Have you checked the fuses? If one headlight fuse blows then they both run through the other one, if that's the case then maybe the working fuse finally had enough.

Bet its the switch, mine occasionally does not come on full brightness at one side, sometime I flick it on and off and it is then ok, but occasionally it does not come on at all.A quick spay of cleaner does the trick usually.

Have swapped both fuses - no Joy, will check the switch tomorrow.
Also heard that the ground wire in the dimmer can cause similar issues. Thanks will let you know.

Downloaded Factory service manuals - why didn't I do this sooner,
so much better than trying to read the haynes one with a magnifying glass and coloured pencils.

I download 79, 80, 81, and 82 non turbo FSM's if anyone wants them, I got them from Xenons130.com

all free, and virus free.

It will be the switch. This is quite a common occurance as the tiny contact wear and get dirty with swithch on an off. IMHO try cleaning the contacts before going anywhere else.

Hope this helps.
