a slide hammer with one of the nuts welded on the end, best to pull it through rather than to push as the bolts are quite a soft metal and will deform and lots of wd40 which i normally leave to soak for about a week before trying to remove

They are a bit of a pain. Lots of WD or better. If you want to retain the pins you are going to struggle after 30 years they will be rusted solid.
I removed the rear suspension complete. one side came out with WD and some banging. the other would not budge. I took the arm with suspension strut, and hacksawed through the rubber bushes in the centre section. One it was apart it was just a matter of drifting the remaining bits of shaft out. Makes sure the frames are in good nick they do rust out. I may be interested in them.. |

I've just done this job on mine and one side was very stubborn indeed resisting all attempts to remove it in serviceable condition, Even the blow torch failed to release it, So out came the sledge hammer lol, I just bought a new one off mike to replace the mangled remains lol, The other slide slid out easy as you like....
Don't forget to remove the cotter pins though! Rob Rob
