Zoosh zooosh zoooooosh noise?

After getting my Z back from replacing the knock sensor (involves removing / replacing the plenum, turbo downpipes and a lot of other stuff) and the O2 sensors, I am now getting a strange zoooshing ( (C) N Molesworth) noise on hard acceleration.

I'd swear blind it wasn't there before. If I'm tootling around, no noises.

If I am firm with the loud pedal, as the boost gauge swings past 0, there's a high pitched zoosh. Then the zoosh fades as the gauge goes back down.

I am reasonably certain this is not mechanical - there's no horrible vibration or screeching noises or (thank buddha) smoke.

The boost gauge (OEM) seems to go as high as it ever did - perhaps a tad higher.

I haven't been able to do too many acceleration *ahem* tests as the other half is, shall we say, unimpressed with such behaviour. But I am going to an airfield tomorrow.....

Any ideas? Is this what leaky vacuum pipes sound like?

Or has the fiddling under the bonnet fixed something which had been not working up to now and they all sound like that sir.

Other than the Code 42, everything seems fine with the ECU and all the PCV gubbins was replaced less than 18 months ago.

And I've got a skid-pan booked for Saturday!

TIA - Gio
