Hello
I am thinking of getting a Z32 TT manual import and do not have much knowledge (if any).

What should i look out for?

Is there a local garage who specialise?

How much should a new cam belt fit cost?

Any other usefull tips etc.

Thanks

Hi Mate,

I think if there's one piece of advice that's most important, it's don't let your heart rule your head. There's plenty of choice out there, so keep looking for a good one.

If it's one that's been here for a while, make sure the previous owner has bills/history for it, and in particular that the oil has been changed regularly (preferably every 3000 miles). Most imports also have modifications of one sort or another, so if the boost gauge goes off the right hand side (or there's an aftermarket one), chances are it's had some sort of boost upgrade (which is fine if done "sympathetically"), but unless the vendor has the knowledge to back this up, then walk away.

Probably the best place to start here: Z32 Information! .. you'll find plenty of reading material, including an excellent buyer's guide, courtesy of Mr Andy P. Print it out and take it with you when you go an view.

Also, you may find that buying from a member of the club, or the 300zx.co.uk club is a good bet - plenty of history on the net with most of these cars. You'll find the 300zx club here: 300zx.co.uk . It's also a good place to get buying advice, or do a search for past questions like that.

Hope this helps,
JB.
