I think you all might be barking up the wrong tree re: Terry's direction (unless you manage to sway him with dreams of even sillier BHP). I think he is planning something rather more sympathetic to the car's original form and function...

Yep, it looked ok to me Terry.

Next project - V8 ?

Surely as responsible officer for Z club, you should be encouraging him to keep it stock and not bastardise:smash:....oops I meant Hybrid the car :p:rofl::D

He has all the BHP he needs I think, let's get him to restore this one back to stock, right down to the skinny cross ply tyres and dustbin wheel caps. Would be so refreshing to see a non red coloured standard s30 on the show circuits:cheers:

I didn't suggest a V8 did I, I was just asking? ;)

I would actually like to see a US import kept just as it was used in the US.

I'm no Z historian so I may be completely wrong here but this to me is just the worst of everything Z.

I could never convince myself or my family/mates that this is a great car at £6.5k - it's a shed IMO. If those in the know think otherwise buy it, I dare you.

The engine turns by hand - very tiring to drive then !!! some parts are missing - yep, quite a few !!! The interior is sunburnt - you don't say!!!

Just think what you could buy for £6.5K!

Rob, what I think you're looking at is a quite rare fairlady, the luxury spec I think. Being a 260 also must make it even more rare in that config? I wouldn't say its a shed. There's cars sold with MOT's that are more of a shed. The body looks very good on it if you look past the missing parts wouldn't you say?

He's a great honest seller to deal with, its a bit 'toppy' price wise but i'm sure it will sell. How much is a good RHD shell worth?

That FairladyZ has been for sale for absolutely ages. He's actually put the price back up to 6.5k from 5.9k last time he listed it. Personally, especially when you consider what Terry just bought for 5.5k (grr!), that thing is overpriced. It does have positives - if you look at the big photobucket gallery, underneath is pretty clean. Rust seems relatively isolated in scope on the shell, apart from the floors behind the seats. Its natively RHD. However, its so, so tatty and the interior is utterly destroyed. Needs new doors too.

Being a FairladyZ lover, if that was closer to 4k, it might have been more tempting. But apparently (from what I've been told anyway) the guy is pretty inflexible with his prices. Its going to be for sale for a lot longer me thinks. Then again, that silver Cali-240Z in Gateshead (if its still for sale and despite needing new floors and other repairs) still makes a more attractive proposition being a complete car with an largely intact interior and being a 240Z.

Shame because, as Franky notes, it is a rare car here. Looking past that POS cheapo one-piece G nose stuck on it, its a late S30 Fairlady Z-L (before they updated to the S31 Fairlady Z - a similar shift to the change from early to later 260Z). It has the 2.0l fuel injected engine (at that point in time the base "Z" and "Z-L" could both be had with either carbs or FI). It still has a couple of nice JDM accessories, i.e. the foot-rest and the rally clock. There probably isn't another late S30 Fairlady Z-L of similar spec in the UK.
