Weekend fun Part!!

Today a friend and I dropped her tank to replace the filler neck and all vent hoses. Long story short, we found the culprit hose causing the fuell smell ( See Pict #1 : Crack at red circle ). We sent the tank in to be boiled and coated, and we will install it later this week.

As we were replacing the filler neck, I removed the little plastic adaptor that fits the large vent hose to the filler neck port, and noticed the normal cracking. Its plastic, and of course over time you know how they tend to crack..... well, as I looked at it, I came up with an Idea!!

So.... I went in the garage, pulled a piece of aluminum tubing I had, and started lathing away..... and walla!!!... ( See Pict. #2 )

We laughed at first about it....... but then as we installed it, we thought, "this is pretty cool, in a funny sort of way"... No worries of it cracking, and it will never rust!! ( See installed Pict. #3 )

Do we have those on our UK cars or is it only part of the US emission control stuff?
