Urgent need of a Windscreen

Wow, what a fantastic response! I'm blown away by the help and support that's been offered by members of this club.

Franky - I am so grateful of your offer, I phoned Peter Mac this morning but unfortunately he doesn't have one and continues to wind down his stash. So your offer couldn't have been better.

Chrisvega - Thanks a lot for your offer to pick the glass up from Franky, It was looking like an over night stay en route to Devon, where as Cheshire is a simple return trip. Perhaps I could pop down the weekend 4/5th March if that's convenient to you? I was actually born in Devon (Weymouth) but for a short journey Cheshire is so much handier.

Jhepb1 - Thanks very much for the offer but as you can see it looks like Franky has wiped the tears away from me :)

Dale - couldn't agree more with your comments, amazing response. Like many I'm not very active on the forums and lurk in the back ground, so to receive the help and support that I've been offered is fantastic - a great set of members on here.

Thanks again all, you've all put a smile back on my miserable face.

Paul S, thanks for the link, I'm sure it'll be of use to others but I need to stick with originality, thanks for the thought though.
Yep, thought that would be the case but I thought I'd post it up.

Now that is a brilliant idea  I really like the idea of that not that I need one! lol

I take it you would need to do some custom wiring and controls?
Haha, yeah. I don't know how much a normal screen costs but I might consider it if the occasion ever came up (I need a car first of course!!!)

It doesn't look too hard to wire it in:

Out of interest, how does windscreen insurance work on these cars? I assume you can get the insurance but is the onus on the insurer to find you a screen? Or have people sourced one and claimed the money back in the past?

Ricky Evans windscreens do them 'unheated' too. He made a batch just over a year ago, and I got one myself. Think that was 120 plus vat. Gotta be worth a call

Hi All, just wanted to say a big thank you to Franky for donating me a windscreen that I picked up yesterday and to ChrisVega who picked it up for me and transported it up to Cheshire to save me travelling the length of England to pick it up, the guy wouldn't even let me contribute to his fuel bill. Incidentally Chris had a nice selection of S30 Z's for sale for anyone looking. Thanks again guys, brilliant support and really appreciated for helping a fellow member out.
