How much ?

And we squabble about Z prices breaking the £25k barrier.....

Focus my friend.

You seem to gloss over the important details.

It's RHD.
UK supplied.

An "equivalent condition and spec " s30 would easily sell for more in current market.

Please don't compare it to the LHD examples you seem to refer to in most of your posts as they don't command the premium here.

Accept the RHD\LHD bias as a given and move on...

So the Toyota Corolla advert reads "

64k miles, fsh. Original uk car.this car is unwelded, unrestored in original factory paint.please be aware of this. One of the very best left"

It has FSH
Original UK car and not a Japanese or US import
Not welded !
Not restored.
On original paint.

And stating the obvious, the Toyota is RHD

Let's pause for a second and you tell me how many s30's can you think off that would tick all those boxes ?

Exactly, thought so. Less than 10 ?

Please justify that outrageous statement : 'easily' and 'more'......!

Now revisit my statement above and I hope it's self-explanatory....

..in the event, should an equivalents30 come up for sale

I know I may sound like a broken record, you really need to take off your rose tinted Euro LHD glasses and replace with RHD units supplied by specsavers !.

I think there's only one AE86 I'd pay £32k for:

Sean, that Toyota is sold so it is worth the money to someone. It is surely a classic and a very good one at that.

I don't think we would squabble about a £25+ asking price for a Z in similar condition.

It's an average car, very '80s whose values have sky-rocketed - I don't know another Japanese car whose values increased so much so quickly.

So, no squabbling over this then ? One for Preet to bitch about :D

you've picked a car who's 'restoration' couldn't be bothered to find the right red, which is easy, also didn't want to use any of that expensive paint in the engine bay?

You are the one who was getting all excited at my comments ( which for the record I still maintain) that an equivalent model s30 would easily sell for more than £32.5k

So what would you say a RHD, UK supplied, never welded, 65k, FSH, original paint s30 in excellent original condition is worth in your expert opinion ?

Not much here, we prefer LHDs:devil:

Do you think one exists because if you don't, we're just wagging' the dog and I've better things to do (respectfully).

A rwd Toyota Corolla AE86 hasn't reached the market value of £32K yet in the UK. Even in Japan, the best conditioned ones are 3 - 4 million yen.

There's a black UK Corolla which has been advertised for one year on ebay, which hasn't shifted. Originally it was advertised for £35K.

The AE86 will continue to rise in value in the uk, following the Japanese market, but it will take time.

Stay away from the AE86 which are from Yorkshire and advertised as 100% rust free.

Whilst the Japanese Domestic Market is a credible benchmark, let's not forget that in some cases a premium is paid for UK supplied cars.

Examples that come to mind are R34GTR, Sunny GTiR, Subaru Imprezza's, AE86's etc..

That's not to suggest aforementioned example is worth the £32k but the fact it's a UK supplied model means that it's more desirable to collectors when compared to an equivalent JDM car.
