Stuck-up 350 drivers!

Funny how this craze of waving all started with the VW Beetle in the seventies.

As for pulling over for motorcycles I get it all the time ... especially when I pulled over when driving my Frontera 4x4. I think the only times I don't get a wave is when the rider is too shocked that a car driver would give way.

I always wave but I have also found that other 350Z/370Z don't always wave back.

Youngsters! ;)

Agreed!

Also, I have flashed/waved at 240/260's and not had a response. (the 240Z was my dream car when I was a kid) I think there is a reverse snobbery in that if you have the older models you must be an enthusiast, if you have one of the latest models you just drive the car and are totally oblivious to history of the car.
In my experience, most owners of 240/260's are not exactly complimentary about the newer models - so hardly likely to get friendly reaction.

You've met some miserable bastards then !

There aren't enough later Zs on the road here to qualify but I've had 3 occasions when later Zs have looked at my wave as if I'm an idiot and 1 who asked for a photo of our cars alongside each other.

It's the oldies here that drive the newer (more expensive) Zs, 'us' youngsters drive the classics !

I live in a miserable country, Sean!

Can I be classed as a 'youngster', then. I am hoping to buy a 240 off someone I know who is emigrating to Australia next year? :D

Depends upon the colour.........only one colour for the young and 'Chinese-wise' ! And you have to drive it outside sometimes of your ............country. But 240Zs give you youth and keep you young - they should be on the NHS !

i think possibly the majority of 350z owners wouldnt recognize a 240/260/280 etc if it came and bit them on the arse.some obviously are real enthisiasts like mr f..but to be honest i think most 350z owners see there car as a 350z end of.
thats the only reason i can think of not waving..however anyone in southeast england if you see a yellow 26 ton lorry waving/flashing lights at you etc.dont be alarmed its just a 260 owner!!

I waved at a fellow Z32 the other day and got no response!!

Then realised I was in a volvo not my 32!!

Sorry to the bloke in the silver 300 in Henleaze, Bristol, you haven't really got a stalker

I've had the same Rob, when I've been in the 260. I've given them a 'knowing' wave (and to a 370 driver too) and got the same blanking!

But in the same vein, had a multiple horn blast and vigorous wave from a 300 driver, so you never can tell.

The most depressing thing is getting loads of attention from middle aged men, and no attention from sexy young ladies!

Maybe I should buy a Porsche. . . . . . . Yeah, right! lol

Dom Joly of Trigger Happy had a 911 which he sold because he kept getting thumbs up from fellow 911 drivers. He said of this " I wish these fellow Porsche owners would f*** off"

I think I get less than 50% of 350z drivers waving back at me. If they are on a forum they king of understand.

The majority either look away or stare back like I am mad.

The other models always qualify for a flash and a wave.

I think there is no excuse for indifference from owners of car that is this rare and exlusive.
Years ago in the Z31 Turbo we came across a new Z32 Turbo - i was 99.9% convinced that the Z32 Turbo
owner had no clue whatsoever that his car shared the same name as ours

It's happened every time a new Z/ZX has come out - it's not being snobby - it's called ignorance !

I make a point of waving back to all the excited kids!

eh Paul don't call me a kid when you go around with lit up badges. I only put mods on my car if they improve performance.
Or have I mis-understood you?

Sorry, was that a joke? I wasn't trying to be funny, I was talking about all the school kids who stop and stare!

As for performance mods, I'm waiting until my warranty runs out :)

Hi all

It's a shame that the majority of comments listed above seem to be aimed at the negativity that surrounds us everyday.

My 350z Nismo is probably the best car I have ever owned and driven.
Drive it every day to work, rain or shine, fair weather or foul.

Luv it, luv it, luv it!

The power, the handling, the traction, the sheer driveability, the stunning good looks and everything else about it. I seem to vaguely remember that feeling when I bought my MG Midget as a teenager.
The best things in life will always leave their mark on you.

Like others I always try to acknowledge others in their Z cars, whatever the model.
How many of us will admit that we drive too fast, often missing the other Z as it disapears in your rearview mirror.

I can honestly say none of my comments were meant in a negative way. If they came across that way then that was not my intention.

I always wave BTW :)
