240z's have a wooden steering wheel and 260z's have a plastic one?
or is that just coincidence?

240Z is resin over a metal frame.

260Z and 280Z is 'rubber' over a metal frame......and it goes saggy-tits in the sun !

Hmm, maybe there are market differences? Some of the wheels are a real wood fibre mixed into a resin it seems, to avoid splintering in an impact?

Or maybe not wood at all to avoid ANY splintering and ask why when most cars before had wooden wheels, it was even almst expected of a sports-car !

Bytheway,Mr.MATSUO told me steering wheel is made of wood and plastic.I saw this topic on the web before,"real wood or plastic?"He said this technology was a very special of another japanese company,they use real wood over the metal core and pooring lickid plastic then pressed with very strong forece.So the steering wheel is made of real wood,but same time made of plastic.
