'Soft' braking

I have a friend with a 240Z of 1971.

He's changed the discs for the solid but grooved / pierced of the brand 'Stop-Tech' and the pads (red but unknown brand) are new also as is the (7/8) master cylinder (7/8).

In spite of that, the braking remains soft - it brakes (and the MOT was passed) but it is not biting and impossible to block the wheels. Also, she pulls left under braking.

Do you have any ideas please?

Apparently it wasn't braking very well when 'stock' !

This is it - he changed back from some other calipers to OEM because of the poor braking so not sure it is caliper related....

have a look at the valve block on inside wing drivers side if not clamp off each flexi hose one at atime see if pedal goes hard

It sounds like there is air in the system somewhere if you have eliminated sticking calipers. Stupid question, has the master cylinder been bled of air first before you started bleeding the wheels? Don't know what type of master cylinder your mate is using but generally you start the bleeding process at the master cylinder( if it had a bleed nipple). Also have you tried chocking the brake pedal down over night, that tends to force any air back out the master cylinder.
