Sean's new engine swap...

I play with the choke lever to make me feel like I'm driving a 70's car but I couldn't work out how to attach it to when I swapped engines!

My point precisely.

I'm thinking of getting my rad modified so that I can stick a starting handle through it. Now that would be nostalgia

I'm going to use my choke lever for my BMW M3 conversion project car to open and shut some fins on the front of radiator for a quick warm up just like the pull up blinds on some old f......rds

Blimey, I can see why I got a snotty PM from Sean considering what others have posted (as I was the originator of the thread).

Anyway (see, Sean that key word again) I look forward to following his Hybridz build....

I can't see any nasty posts in this thread(unless they have been removed) and most are just poking a bit of fun due to Sean's change of thinking.

Johny, I am sure the "Easily Upset Brigade" will be reading them as nasty.

......but then they probably think he deserves it :D

As it is nearly a year since this project started, how is it going with the engine swap? Nothing on Hybridz....:(

Snotty pm ? I merely informed you that since you had began to use this subject to try to score points about what I'd previously stated, I wouldn't be posting here or hybridz why give you ammunition ?

I admit that I've changed my opinion upon swaps and to reinforce that, I'm going ahead with one : only a fool won't change his mind especially presented with so many options and advantages so if you and others won't take the rip, I might post as a forum member but photos will be limited as my forum attachement memory is almost up

Alternatively learn French because I'm keeping no secrets ;)

The project has evolved, changed, changed back again and finally I think (at this moment) that the final version has been decided upon - some 'small' details to finalise like wheels, tyres and suspension type, type of gauges, choice of seats etc but there has to remain something to think and dream until it sees the light of day

Expect the car to be at Spa 2014 and be afraid 'cos I'll be up there with Tel and Johnny at least :smash:

This year is parts, imports and restoration/preparation with my project assembled after summer:)

Paul..........what to say ? I want a Z envelopping me and frankly, an off-the shelf M3 will not get near me and I've already chewed on Caterhams' and found them wanting - I need more calories. and I'll leave BMs for the Essex crowd.

If I was living in the UK, I'd do this very differently but I have to +/- adhere to the rules over here and I have second Z to do with that which I please later - perhaps something more conventional.

There are several active people on this forum who're aware of what I'm doing and I appreciate their help and input enormously - thanks.

I'm trying not just to undertake a 'simple' swap - no offence Tel....this sometimes does my head in but it's fun but go further and add a theme to it - for instance, I have someone working on something in Singapore right now.

I can see your point Tel and yours Sean but wotever you put suspension wise on the zed remember you can also upgrade the m3 ,my money would be on the m3 but must admit it sounds cool,

No points scoring from me, where in the thread is that then? Perhaps you should get yourself a mirror... You obviously started to post on Hybridz and when I pointed out you were doing this interesting engine swap, it all went quiet (except in French, which I have been folowing). If I wanted "ammunition", what you are doing would have been on here a long time ago. The more logical reason for nothing here or more on Hydridz is contained within this thread. You found your own hook and baited it with yourself.

Shame you have not put up any info on zclub, it looks interesting.

I'm sure it will be interesting to some and since the internet is public, there is nothing to stop you sniping and posting here.:) But please keep your comments relative to the subjet.

I'm with you Steve.....hopefully there are fewer bald pimps.

Its still interesting even if some people on here are not in to it ,not my cup of tea but am still interested, are you doing the work Sean or are you just the organ grinder

Into it or not, interested or not - I don't care - sorry chaps but I won't be posting up details here.

The engine is just another part of the whole project - there's much more than just any old swapsies.
