Sad Samuri

Sorry scrapper was harsh. My point is quite a large percentage of 240z are Samuri and are still about because people have saved them because of what they are.
Surely if the H reg Russian car is on the Samuri register Spike says he built it and if anyone should know he would.

What doesn't help are stories of 'genuine samuri certificates' being exchanged for a few hundred quid and a back story created.

I'm at bit lost with this. Are you saying people are selling their certs then some else forging them?

Albrecht I do believe it was converted to rhd also had central locking & it used to belong to Brian baker. In what year was it converted to a Samuri & by whom please?

Sorry, but why are you asking me.... ? LOL

After all:

Look at my user name I have been a Samuri fanatic for 26 years...

...so I was hoping you'd be able to tell me how the fact that the car was a private import, was originally LHD and has a DVLA-issued 'age related' H-suffix plate, calls into question its provenance as a 'Samuri'?

As ( I believe, please tell me if I'm wrong... ) no HS30 or HLS30-prefixed 'Samuri' except 'FFA' ( and 'FFA' being the proverbial moving feast....[/i] was converted as a new car, anything's possible.

What, specifically, causes you to call into question the provenance of the car in Russia? The 'H' suffixed registration number appears to be a red herring as far as the car's provenance as a 'Samuri' is concerned.

Does anybody have a picture of the samuri in Russia? If it is Brian Baker's old car 'SUX 990H' then I'd be be really interested to see it.... That car was stunning.

Does anyone know where in Russia the car is? I heard St Petersburg.
I am currently living and working in St Petersburg. I may be able to go and find it, Any details of where to start looking would be helpful

Follow the link - nothing really in the pics to say where it is.... unless you can read the sign on the building in the background

It looks like it says Во́лховский, which is either the company name or Volkhovsky District in Leningrad Oblast.

Don't even ask how I worked that out...

I'm sure there was a video on this site somewhere with the same car at one of the Billing meets when it was in its prime, but I can't find it now...??

And that's quite a coincidence, 2 of Brian's former cars ending up with a Russian connection.

Edited, found the video :) so sad to see a car go from one state to the current state in such a relatively short time

That's a crying shame, bought up shipped out and just left by the looks of things. Staggering amount of decay in just 10 or so years. Just goes to show these cars do not live outside well. Perhaps a better project than the thread car though.

That's a newer pick than the 2004 pics at the start of the thread. Look at the damage on the wing and door

Surely Spike knows whether or not a Samuri is genuine or not

How ? I believe he did not keep a register of all the cars he built. Samuri also sold heads brakes etc etc so people who bought these parts then called their cars Samuri's . I told you its a minefield :D. As for a certificate I have never seen one but my mate had one with his the reg was GAW ***M.
