Ok i've got lazy n couldn't be arsed .. but back at it today

At last I dragged the car out today for its first test drive but guess what

Not sure I will live this clip down but ...
hmm, it don't sound right ;) (speakers req)

260z :: propdop-1.flv video by 900ss - Photobucket

Pulled the diff mount n rollbar etc out afterwards for a closer look
Sure it didn't help but half of the front edge of the bonded diff mount has pulled apart
So the prop would catch on the over run n sound a bit odd

So I urgently need a new diff mount to get it back together!
Atleast then I can test drive it a bit longer then once round the block lol

Anyone got a very good or as new mount going spare ?

Sorted :)

Diff mount generously donated f.o.c today by a fellow Zed owner
Big up that man

So just finished putting the rear suspension back together tonight
Only tried it up on axles stands atm but it seems all good

But will know for sure come the weekend when I get it back on the road :driving:

All back together but it didn't stay on the road for long

Diff mount 99% sorted the prop catching, but it still caught the once on its first proper 25mile test drive
Now to fix yet another prob thats shown after the test drive
Seems the prop itself is out of balance, as the car vibrates bad at over 50mph
Bit of a pain in the arse so its now back up on axle stands again without a prop
Still to get it off I took the front diff cradle off so may aswell space the nose of the diff a few mm higher
Two birds with one stone? I hope so lol

When will it all end .... :D

oh yah, did I mention the gearbox has also got an annoying whine lol :nopity:

Result !
No rain !! atleast not for half the day so time to crack on !

Having taken one side apart it was much easier to take the other apart

Atleast I now knew where the bolts should be :D
99% of which undone fine, inc the headlamp bowls and cowls which was a result !

Anyone want a rotten o/s wing foc :D

All I need now is a few more sunny weekends to get the rest apart

you need a couple of gallons of paint stripper first save all that sanding

Bought them from Rare Rims with paypal which was handy @ £618 delivered

Paid Monday and turned up a day later. top service
All boxed + nuts
Fronts are 9 x 17 & rears a 9.5 x 17

You jest !
The paint comes off in seconds but all the filler primer? takes ages to get off
Must be a few mm think?
First time I've sanded down like this, so wasn't expecting it

No not jesting lol

Mine has a layer of paint then what I assume is a few mm + of filler primer over both rear quarters (and the rest of the car )
N/S is down to metal now tho not sure what to do about the O/S yet
Seems the O/S has seen a little more work around the filler area
Fook knows whats been going on around the arch but its never ending

Seems the o/s rear quarter has had some action in its life
Been stuffed bad and filled before !
Again took for ever to get it back to metal

Also got the n/s quarter down to metal aswell as the n/s door

What started out as a few small lumps in the paint turmed out to be rust creeping along both roof gutters

Still gives me something to do

Good work chappie ... I hope that the door was still open slightly on the third pic giving the impression of bad alignment.
