Yeah car has a diagnostic connector so I could monitor those values if needed from a laptop, I will probably get a PowerFC ecu when the engine is back in and it will be off to tune on a rolling road etc.
The car was only running 1 bar boost which an RB26 should be able to do all day long with no other mods to be honest the oil presure was only 1.5 bar on idle so it was probably a tired old engine and I do drive my cars hard still my bonus cleared yesterday so the parts ordering has started.

Took the block out today and stripped it down ready for machining. This is what the side of piston 6 looks like, piston 3 was not much better.

No nothing about those liner engines. 1 bar (14 odd psi ?) What do those engines run as stock? Seems the old chip wasnt right for your std tune?

yeap engine was full of oil I checked the oil earlier that day and it was ok. The crank and cam etc are all fine no signs of oil starvation. There are oil squiters but I dont have the socket to remove them (its a funny torq type one) so will be interesting to see if there working ok once I get them removed.

well 8 months and a lot of money letter I finally have a nice new shiny engine to put back in the car :D

New Engine Spec are:

New N1 RB26 block (old one had a crack)
New R33 crank which has been balanced (old one was junked due to scores from knacked bearings)
Eagle rods
JE 77mm forged pistons
Tomei metal headgasket, and throttle/exhaust gaskets
ARP head studs
N1 oil and water pumps
Rebuilt head

Just hope that Gordo "Savoir of the world" wants to bail me out along with the banks as this project has left me penniless now.

Engine looks great! The N1 pump is that the exspensive one or the Ficking exspensive one?
Hope youv'e got enough money left to bring it out this year fella?
I'm looking forward to the first test day at Santa pod on March16th. A few of us are up for some track days this year if you fancy it?
