Oil temp sensor and fuel sender

Hi,

I have recently bought an 89 N/A auto, love the car but have a couple of issues.

1. Temp guage for oil has started to go off the scale, even when the car is cold oil temp is showing 300 within a couple of minutes. Is this just the temp sensor or is it another proble?

2. I know this is a common problem on the 31s, but I need a replacement fuel sender. I have searched all over the net and had no luck finding one. Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Lastly, while driving along the motorway heard a loud clunk from the back of the car and it felt like I had been shunted. Now under hard acceleration I have a lot of vibration coming from the rear of the car. Had the gearbox checked out and there were no issues. Anyone have any ideas what might have happened?

Thanks

1. Sender is probably low resistance giving false high reading.
2. No current answer to the fuel gauge sender problem - no longer available from Nissan and pattern parts seem to have dried up.
3. Sounds like an issue with rear suspension / crossmember mounting - check the crossmember bushes and rear diff mount.

cheers for the reply. Will check your suggestions.Crazy that aftermarket fuel senders aren't available. I don't suppose you know of anyone in Japan or US perhaps?

hey mr F, thanks for the chat today

when i rang back up again the parts guy had previously quoted me on a z32 FSU lol

the search continues

Nissan have a habit of quoting me, and taking payment, and making me wait 3 weeks.

Then they tell me they can no longer get the part.
