I have just got the Z back on the road after a long restoration. The diff is very noisy. Its a standard 5 speed UK car.
I am presuming the bearings are shot. Free wheeling down hill there is little noise from the diff but apply power and its whining like a banshee.. I suppose it may carry on like that for years.. When I checked the diff there was very little oil in it prior to the cars restoration, I am presuming the PO ran it without much oil in it before the car was laid up hence the noise..
It is topped up now obviously..
any thoughts on where I could get a replacement.. ?
