Nissan Parts Charge

How many of you have been hit with the idiocy of Nissan charging £29.38 to look up a part number? I know there are much better sources of supply such as our very own Mike Feeney but I get very wound up about this on principle.

Twice now, my car has been in to the Main Dealer for some work which they have been unable to complete because of this damn-fool charge. They couldn't even complete the service! Good grief.

It struck me that there must be a fair few other models of Zs which came in "grey" - and of course, everything from the early 300ZX backwards was NOT imported by Nissan Motor GB. Get worried - if they get away with this, your car could be next....

now I know why you have been quiet for a couple of weeks
maybe you could forward soom of this info to Mandy for inclusion in the club mag as there are 550/600 z owers on the books and only a few of them are  registered on the site.
Also if you could forward some info to me I could then contact Will Lightburn at the Datsun Owners Club and Keith Purden at the Nissan Turbo Owners Club to include it in thier club's mags.
maybe some sort of tempate letter could be formed for down loading or including in the relevant mags for members to send to Nissan
In 3 weeks time I am going to the States to attend the Convention in San Antonio and if you like I could take some stuff with me and present to some of the High Flyings, and I do mean high about 4th from the top, representatives from NISSAN JAPAN and Mr K who still appears to have great contacts in NISSAN and who knows what pressure they can bring to stop this idiotic policy

Thanks, Steve - I will gladly take up your suggestions. But probably not until next weekend as I have a big show in town to work at (which I should have been preparing for instead of letting off steamwith web sites&#33<img src="http://www.zclub.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>.

In the meantime you / Mandy are welcome to visit the site and print / use anything you like. I've e-mailed Will but haven't contacted NTOC yet - feel free. Your forthcoming visit is a tremendous opportunity.

I think the club suppliers give great service so don't want to take any business away from them, but this Nissan charge is a matter of principle. Grumble grumble.
